Lastman
Are the marines in the Battle for Macragge box set the same as the marines in the basic Combat Squad box of 5? One guy at the hobby shop said they were less detailed and came in 3 pieces and another said they were the same as the ones that come in the box sets. Neither had one to show so I was hoping someone would have pics of both so I could compare. Tyranids same/different? Thanks Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/92073-are-marines-in-battle-for-macragge-box-different/ Share on other sites
redthirst
i don't know about the tyranids, but the marines are different and come in four parts: 1. body (head, torso, arms, shoulders, legs) 2. bolter with hands 3. backpack 4. bases Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/92073-are-marines-in-battle-for-macragge-box-different/#findComment-1058149 Share on other sites
Lorgrin
The Tyranids are Snap-Fit as well, you just glue on the Arms... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/92073-are-marines-in-battle-for-macragge-box-different/#findComment-1058158 Share on other sites
Maleficum
Are they the same size? (I've seen them at my local GW Shop and they seem kinda small...) Beornling 3.1415
be thankful in RT days we got cardstock marines and orks for the bigger set cheap game. ;-) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/92073-are-marines-in-battle-for-macragge-box-different/#findComment-1058189 Share on other sites
Yuri
The marines in the Battle for Macragge box are the same as these. Snap-fit, as their description tells. A rigidly posed body, no room for alteration. The 5-man Combat Squads are the same multipart kit as the full 10-man tactical squad, it just lacks the upgrade sprue that has the bits for a sergeat, missile launcher and flamer + a few other doodads. rat of vengence
The 4 part marines aren't all that bad. They are the same size, but do look more rigid and static. I have 10 of them mixed through my army, they blend in nicely. A whole squad of them might stand out a bit more since they have only a few variations in pose. I won't be buying more because I like to have more variety in my army, but I certainly use the 10 I got with the BoM box. TechnoMagi
i got 2 space marine apint set boxes, each came 5 of the snap marines like in BoM. I use them alot, and they fit in well with other marins. I used 5 of them for an assault squad (mounted some jumpacks on them) and they look sweet. I lobbed off the little thing in the missile launcher marine's trigger hand and replaced it with a chainsword and used an assault marine plasma pistol arm where the missile launcher arm goes. looka a bit like a 2nd metal marine. feuer_faust
They're slightly more compact than a normal 11-part marine, but do blend in with large squads. Angelos
Yes I am still using these marines, I hate them and once I get more I will not hesitate to pitch them :D Heres a picsy http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e143/GabrielAngelos/Tactical%20Squad%20I/DSC03084.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e143/GabrielAngelos/Tactical%20Squad%20II/DSC03083.jpg they look better in the 2nd squad, but I still despise them Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/92073-are-marines-in-battle-for-macragge-box-different/#findComment-1059367 Share on other sites

Pea
Like said before. They're pretty good models. They blend in nicely with other (multi-part) marines. Keep in mind that the BfM box is aimed at beginners, and 4 part models are a lot less daunting to construct than the regular marines. patsy02
They are just like normal marines, only with horrible poses. Looks like they are dancing... :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/92073-are-marines-in-battle-for-macragge-box-different/#findComment-1059685 Share on other sites
-Q-
If they could've made the heads a separate piece they'd be great. Having them all looking forward with guns pointing to the side is what really kills them. the infraggable krunk
BFM marines aren't too shabby; they're the first ones i bought. in my army they're a far sight better than the thirty or so hand-me-down 2nd Edition one-pose-fits-all marines, who all look like they have rickets. however, they are a bitch to convert because they are all basically one piece and the hands are kinda stuck to the bolters. i've done a few weapon swaps with my Macragge marines and they turned out decently, but not without a superglue offering of Skin for the Skin God and some stab wounds from my trusty craft knife. i'll get some pics up when i'm able.
