Inquisitor scale jump-pack

Recommended Posts

I've been given a Brother Artemis model, and I want to convert him into an Inq scale Death Co with jump-pack. I've ordered the helmet, second arm and chainsword from GW, but I can't find a bolt pistol or jump-pack anywhere.

Anyone seen anything helpful before? If I can't get a bp I'll probably just make him with the bolter and chainsword, seems appropriate though not 100% fluffy

For the jump-pack I'm thinking of hacking up some deodorant bottles and plasticard, but all sugesstions welcome. ..

firstly... second arm?? theres a new arm model for Artemis?? *thinks maybe its time to get back to work on his model*

there used to be a bolt weapon sprue, if you ask in store they should be able to order it for you, alternatly there are a couple of other models in the range that have bolt pistols, so you could just get one of those.

Im glad someone else was thinking of this idea, its an interesting conversion as is but you might be better off converting the BP it comes with, with alittle Plastic tubbing and adding abit of odds and ends for the Backpack to make it look more, "Jump pack esque".

IMHO The Brother Art. model as is doesnt need converting at all.. since its an amazing model but Im curious as to how you'll make the Non-Deathwatch shoulderpad... if you ordered 2 right arms you'll be sorely dissapointed as the model's shoulderpads dont come off, now doing alittle chopping and repositioning will be needed and alot of GS work will be required as well.. There are many different bolt pistols in the accessory sprue.

I believe there was a guide on how to make old style jump packs in the forums. That'd be a nice guide to look at for making your jumpack, Hope it goes well tho, Im always looking forward to seeing new inquisitor models 8)

Ok, thanks to everyone and Argonas for their help.

Graywolf, thanks for the reminder, I've got Barph's site bookmarked and had forgotten about that mini: cheers..

Gen Stukov, sorry to disagree, but I'm really looking for a regular DC trooper, and I just dont think the Deathwatch pads fit, either from a fluff or aesthetic point. I realise the second pad's going to be a cut and paste job, but there's going to have to be quite bit of GS stuff on that arm anyway.

re the jump-pack, I will probably use the existing back-pack as the base for the new build, unless I screw it up completely and throw it away..

Penitent and hendrik, those are both good ideas: I don't want to spend all my cash on a complete Warthog kit, so any ideas on sprues and scales? I guess 1:72 is too small, so we're looking 1:24 or 1:32?

I made a really nice jet exhaust last year for my Orks using the ring from a ball deodorant bottle and a sports-cap from a water bottle, I'll try to get pics up for c&c before I go on holiday tomorrow.

Just buying the engines? No place I know of, since most model aircraft mods I'm familiar with are just armament kits.

I was thinking, if money/buying an unnecessary model kit wasn't an issue, you could also try the engines off other kits, like the Galaxy or the Viking, at another scale...

i think deodorant bottles will be to big, atleast the ones they have in belgium here will be too big:p

i did some sceth work over the picture of the marine backpack from the online store with paint

jetpack

here ya go

the black lines (and the blue) are the gw paint bottles, the red are plates you make from plasticard or other stuff, and the green are cables:)
