I've thought of lowered frontal lobe activity due to implants, possibly having them be psychically mute, and no librarians. but i got comments of "dumb, cavemen marines" on other forums.

This is an interesting idea. I like it, i'm failing to see how a chapter of psychic mutes (psykers by the way are mutants in their own right) makes them dumb. I mean they could be considered purer possibly, the more extreme chapters; such as the Black Templars and even the DIY Castigators, as they have no psykers within their ranks. I'd suggest looking into this one.

I might come back to this, but for now I'm going to try and make the chapter have a personality of it's own, I don't know if I have it in me to doom this chapter to extinction (what with faulty geneseed meaning they cant recruit anymore).

Work on the homeworld section is going to resume tomorrow, in the meantime i'm gonna work on a few half painted minis.

Damage to the gene-seed doesn't necessarily doom a Chapter, just look at the Raven Guard.

Honestly if you can't think of a good flaw that works... have none, like the Lamentors or the Minotaurs, they have no OBVIOUS genetic flaw that people know about... but there must be one somewhere. You don't necessarily have to explain the flaw in detail to include it in the background.

Whenever you update this or have a question feel free to call or PM me and try to get R to visit the B&C more. Might give him some inspiration.

Okay, just a minor update to the homeworld section today as I have time inbetween lectures.

Have a couple ideas, and would like input as to whether or not they work:

1) an unease of using librarians because of their recent campaigns against chaos, fearing the librarains may suffer from warp spawned perils.

2) adding to the funeral pyre idea (incoming heresy): a chaplain takes a nibble of a fallen traitor marine every once and a while before burning the head, to see if their soul is deemed absolvable

3) the idea of painting frescos on the doors of their tanks, namely with imperial religious flair, in order to scare an enemy into submission/confession (in theory)

4) should I just go back to the darn templars gene seed? religious ties are there, but i dont like the whole "im righteous im gonna stab you to death!" mentality. How can I create religious zeal without stabby bits.
