Sanguinary High Priest WIP

Last year I started painting this mini but work and life started taking too much of my time and I ended up forgetting about it. 6 months later I found these photos I took in order to make a tutorial of some sort one day.. so here I am sharing them with you. Feel free to comment on my painting. Currently the mini is sitting on a rock base made from wine cork, waiting for the finishing touches (painting the base, painting the backpack) but otherwise complete. I suppose I could finish it in a day. Anyway, here goes, for your viewing pleasure.

thats some nice work brother ^_^ very clean B)

my only gripe is his nose, i think you need to define it a bit better, it sort of looks like he has had a wierd desease ( a bit like my death guard ;) )

i would pic out the magazine and the scope on the bolter, if you were gonna do that any way ill shut up -_-

other than that, that is a sweet mini :D

Sorry, I will do the bolter with burnished gold casing and maybe add some purity seals to it too while I'm at it, obviously it won't be all black.. Just don't have a gold color at the moment.

Glad you guys like my painting! Maybe I'll finish this guy over the weekend.

Nice work! I tried painting one of these at work (i work at an independent stockist) and it came out really bad. The only thing i don't like that much is the flesh. It looks a bit too tanned for space marines that I paint but otherwise very good. Keep up the good work!

Just came back to painting this model after many years and picked up from where I left off.. I'll use it as part of my Honor Guard. :(

Obviously not yet finished, lots of boltgun metal etc. needed but I called it a day. I could use suggestions for getting the gold casing on the boltgun to look better.. I just used a cheap-ish gold from a craft paint line and shaded with watered down chaos black. Not my favorite..

well seeing as the model is very vibrant and clean sort of comic book style....

anyway the gun needs to be the same at the moment its just a dull metallic gold, i would go for bright gold or silver, possibly nmm (if you feel daring enough)

that way it fits in with the peice better

Thanks for the comments. I actually shaded the casing a bit darker with watered down chaos black and then highlighted it with gold and it looks much better. I should probably buy a more expensive and quality gold metallic paint and go over it.

I'll take a new photo tonight when I completely finish the mini.
