shortysl
I love the highlighting on the cloak, and the model's well-painted in my own humble opinion, but I admit I've never liked the lightning effect on Power Weapons. It's beautifully done, don't get me wrong, but I prefer a simple blue wash over a metal blade. As an aside, can I have your technique and recipe for the highlight on the cloak? been trying to find a good colour for my Greenwing but everything looks fake when I do it. Cod
Very nicely done! It is a nice figure actually, with lots of detail and you have painted him really well. Yep, that sword is great too: currently there is a storm outside and I probably shouldn't be on my computer but I can attest, that lightning effect on the sword is very authentic Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/275129-belial-dark-angels/#findComment-3367549 Share on other sites
Prot
Very nice. Belial has become my favorite character/unit in that book. You've done him a great justice. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/275129-belial-dark-angels/#findComment-3368922 Share on other sites
[TA]Typher
Despite the badly sculpted model you did a great job painting it. One of the best I've seen. Too bad the model isn't as dynamic as some of the new chaos marine models or as stoic and powerful the Lysander model. Anyway.. I got a little off topic. You paint very well. Interrogator Stobz
Agreed, fantastic paintjob on Big B FF151 (if that is your real name ) It's a shame Belial is posed to say: "Look at me!!! I have a nice sword and a cool shooty gun with a dangly bit and I need to go to the toilet soon, could somebody please hold them?" Lolz, still love your skill dude!!! HJL
Youve done a very nice job with a pretty crappy model. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/275129-belial-dark-angels/#findComment-3372330 Share on other sites
Brother-Chaplain Kage
I have to agree with several other people that you did a pretty good job with a so-so model. I'd been wanting to see an official Belial model for some time, and the level of disappointment is on par with the Star Wars prequels. Pandareaper
not a bad job on what is one of the worst DA models availible. I'd be interested to see what you could do with one of the others Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/275129-belial-dark-angels/#findComment-3383554 Share on other sites
appiah4
Everyone says fantastic sword but I can't unsee how it is quite bent at the hilt.. :( Horrors of crapcast? FF151
Thanks guys for all the comments. Yes the sword is bent ....... I actually straightened it out by running it under hot water and holding it straight till it cooled however it reverted back to the shape I got it in...... Frustrating! I was going to drill a brass rod in it to hold straight but the sword is fairly thin and the room for error was very small....... S.k.i.t.t.l.e
That is very nice work dude. The sword is the exact way I envisioned my DA Vet Squad sergeants power sword to look, nice to have a reference. So thanks for that. Artemid
When you've got it bent in shape, don't let it air cool, dunk it in cold water - if you air dry it it cools too slowly and reverts. Excellent paint job though!
