I love the highlighting on the cloak, and the model's well-painted in my own humble opinion, but I admit I've never liked the lightning effect on Power Weapons. It's beautifully done, don't get me wrong, but I prefer a simple blue wash over a metal blade.

As an aside, can I have your technique and recipe for the highlight on the cloak? been trying to find a good colour for my Greenwing but everything looks fake when I do it.

Thanks everyone,

The green cloak is using old Citadel paints (you will have to convert to their new names)

Dark Angels green base

heavy highlight of snot green

less highlight of goblin green

wash with thraka green

fine high light of goblin green

a final every so slight highlight of scorpion green

Very nicely done! It is a nice figure actually, with lots of detail and you have painted him really well. Yep, that sword is great too: currently there is a storm outside and I probably shouldn't be on my computer but I can attest, that lightning effect on the sword is very authentic sweat.gif

Despite the badly sculpted model you did a great job painting it. One of the best I've seen.

Too bad the model isn't as dynamic as some of the new chaos marine models or as stoic and powerful the Lysander model. Anyway.. I got a little off topic. You paint very well.

Agreed, fantastic paintjob on Big B FF151 (if that is your real name wacko.png )

It's a shame Belial is posed to say: "Look at me!!! I have a nice sword and a cool shooty gun with a dangly bit and I need to go to the toilet soon, could somebody please hold them?"

Lolz, still love your skill dude!!!

Thanks guys for all the comments.  Yes the sword is bent .......  I actually straightened it out by running it under hot water and holding it straight till it cooled however it reverted back to the shape I got it in...... Frustrating!  I was going to drill a brass rod in it to hold straight but the sword is fairly thin and the room for error was very small.......

When you've got it bent in shape, don't let it air cool, dunk it in cold water - if you air dry it it cools too slowly and reverts.

Excellent paint job though!
