Hahaha

Yeah, I know I have seen a tutorial somewhere around here, but I can't for my life find it right now! :P

I've tried cutting, I've tried sculpting...it doesn't turn out that great though...just as my heels...

  • 2 weeks later...

Well, there is a storm raging outside. Since I'm in Sweden, it's named the meekest name ever..."Sven".

Really, Sven the storm? Is that the most destructive name they could think of??? :P

Well, this seems to be the result:

A little bionic:

And a little power: (I bought some small 1mm balls from ebay, it's my first attempt)

It's supposed to be something like Mk IV...meh...

Thanks you two!

@recon: The sword blade is from the Skaven Stormvermin sprue and their halberd blades just fit sizewise so well as chaos marine swords and knives. The Alpha Legion shoulderpads fit the shoulders, but are a bit smaller than the standard shoulderpads.

Well, I guess I should merge my Thousand Sons in here too...

I'm continuing to experiment with my photographing skills (and the obvious lack thereof!) One of my old Thousand Sons taken in a new light (sortof):

It's one of my only two finished Thousand Sons, but now I see I could go back and repair them a bit...together with all the other 16 TS I speedpainted for a tournament... :P

Hmm, how do you edit tags and the title in a topic anyway?

Thanks! I added my TS to my tags now, but since they are part of my Alpha Legion cell, I didn't feel an urge to change the name. :)

@Skrundle: Well, I need to get the other 16 completely painted first before I do anything to this guy...though in hindsight I should probably have dusted him off before taking a pic. I haven't used my TS in a while, hehe

Speedpainted and assembled some horrors for a tournament. Now afterwards I need to get in there and repair stuff. They are getting some greenstuff love and some new pink! Also, there are a few I still need to assemble...

Ah. The horrors we painted on site for the tournament getting some love, eh? ;)

What do you use for you photo setup? I built a photo box a few days ago, so next time we have a campaign-day you can try it out. I dont really know if it's any good, but I hope it betters my pictures :P I still only have my iPhone to take pics with, tough.

Excessus, did you find the horrors were a bit heavy on some of their bases? I recently built a few squads of them and a bunch of them keep falling over, going to try gluing some spare magnets to the bottom and see if that helps stabilize the weight.

The TS looks great by the way.

@Nat: LOl, yeah! These are my hero horrors that I based, basecoated and "painted" with some help 1½ hour before the tournament, haha! It is time for them to get their GS love and a new layer of colour! Thanks for the help btw! :D

@Skrundle: Yeah, the details make such a difference. Especially when it comes to Thousand Sons because, well, they have tons of it! Chaos in general, I find, have much more detail work than loyalists. Though, what I find extremely difficult, is to start re-painting on models I already have put paint on a long time ago! My Thousand Sons, as my horrors, were mostly speed-painted before a tournament. I am horrible with deadlines! :(  This is how my two stress-painted Aspiring Sorcerers look atm:

These are the first one I am going to "repair" the paintjob on. But they have been on my painting desk for hours now, and I can't build up the will to dip the brush and start...

@Tanith: I put the horrors as far back as possible on their bases, trying as much as possible to have the center of gravity above the base itself (including the arms). So far I have managed that pretty good and none of them are prone to falling over. My Thousand Sons on the other hand, have metal torsos and heads. They would fall over instantly if it weren't for the addition of this:

It's one of those things that lets nuts be firm against a wooden material, I bought a big-pack really cheap! All my top-heavy models have them.

@PA: Thank you! :blush.:
