  1. Oath of moment can work for all hit rerolls too and if your playing bloodless angels youd get the boost to wound also. not BA specific but 1st co task force would net you full wound rerolls in addition to the above. I also think armoured wrath is slightly better than angelic inheritors for that synergy,
  2. so from what i can see, LAG is essentially +2S and +1A on the charge with some nice stratagem's I have some Qs about angelic inheritors though Carmine wrath rerolls: does this include shooting too? Their appointed hour: does this apply if characters have joined units? although i suppose 'instant of grace' strat could work if not. might make reivers useful from deepstrike? although without the +2S and +1A not sure if they are choppy enough
  3. Ah i see, thank you
  4. Wow thank you, thats incredible. bit of a dense question, but whats a campaign book?
  5. Thank you, ill create a list in the OP, i have a feeling there are a lot of books
  6. standard 2000, i do play with a lot of very competitive tournament players, im not expecting to beat them even with a tooled list, but not to be destroyed by turn two would be nice :)
  7. So hello. weird title i know, some of you may remember me, long time member, quiet for the past few years due to RL issues: career, degree etc. champion of all things scouty and long time Ultramarine fanboi. I find myself getting back into the hobby in a big way now that i have more free time. Now heres why i feel uncomfortable, im thinking of leaving Ultramarines and joining the ranks of the blood angels. there are multiple reasons for this, partly because most of the other marines players around me run Ultras and i want to be different, most of my old comrades have moved on, but i also really want a bit more combat chop and feel BA would be closer to my chosen playstyle. In reality ive been thinking of a DIY chapter that i can run as bloodless angels if i wanted from time to time (how does this actually work btw?) which allows a bit more freedom in paint schemes too. Ive followed BA commander on the tube for a while and just recently ive been strongly attracted to the faction, so heres me taking the plunge, although i do feel like a turncoat for shifting allegiances. onto the meat of my post, ive managed to obtain a large quantity of primaris marines, i dont want to use older units that are likely to go legends. but also theme wise, if i run as a successor chapter to BA, they would all be primaris right? Since the devastation of Baal killed all the first born? perhaps you can recommend some good books on this, as im very fuzzy on the details, are there successor chapters anymore? I am very keen to try a more phobos themed army, and would be interested in seeing if the BA rules make them a little more worthwhile, especially reivers. i think infiltrators for denying Deepstrike and scouts for up and down are very worthwhile and i like the idea of rage fueled invictor warsuits getting first turn charges and helping with early objective gains. characters and anti tank have always been an issue, so im thinking of taking a couple gladius for the latter, any advice on the rest is gratefully received. Thank you.
  8. So im looking for help, trouble is i cant accurately summarise what im looking for. Im going to try, and hope my fellow autists can understand my mad ramblings. so im looking for the 40k end times lore, as much as i can get hold of and largely in the right order. This would cover: The loss of cadia (ive read the minka lesk ones which cover some of this), The expansion of the eye of terror. Return of Big G Devastation of Baal Return of the lion etc i have cawls great works, minka lesk/cadian series, indomitus, leviathon and the dawn of fire series, what am i missing? what order should they be read in? sorry this is probably going to be a large scale works. Edit: book series identified: watcher of the throne series
  9. I've always liked the idea of skew lists and love a good theme myself. 40k has always been the kind of game where if you don't run competitively your unlikely to do well (obviously), but you could always find fun on the lower tables and aim for a mid table finish. I think current edition has dialled this up to 11 though and i find themed/fun armies just get demolished most of the time. So im always looking for interesting ideas that combine skewed lists or themes and are still decently competitive. Its not easy. Hopefully this thread grows :)
  10. yeah thats always a solid back up
  11. Looks ace, some good freehand on the helmet and scroll. How long did this take? whilst not a critique of you, I dont like gw metallic paints at all, they need to improve them.
  12. ah I hadn’t considered strategems I’ll check out the reviews thank you
  13. thats true, skew lists always have a hard counter. i was thinking of firestorm detachment for +1S firing at close range. Might help vs monsters a bit, anything T8/9 is 5s instead of 6s to wound?
  14. So i love left field armies. With games being won or lost on objectives, would an all infantry force be viable? Anti tank would be probelmatic sure. I was thinking Ventris for deep striking a large unit of hellblasters. run him with bladeguard? Max eradicator (3x3) max bodies, so 5 squads of intercessors and 2 assault intercessors? would we need infiltrators to get to objectives early?
