Would be redundant and less thematic than Celestian Sacrosancts. Nothing to stop you converting Sacrosancts to have swords for your order.

Full Dark Angel reveal

Not a joke, just a matter of opinion. The effect looks more Green if you're used to the Lion where the canvas is larger and there's other green on the model to bring out the green-ness but its impossible to tell 'green so dark its black' from 'black highlighted by green light'. The armour is greener than the 'Eavy Metal Black Templars but that still doesn't mean it isn't black. If you look at the way I paint the Black Legion in the link from my signature you can tell why I don't consider the highlight colour to determine how to interpret black armour but other people do sometimes confuse my models for Night Lords so its a matter of perspective. -

Name origins in 40K, Dark Angels especially
Closet Skeleton replied to crimsondave's topic in + AMICUS AEDES +
I'm not familiar with Gustav Davidson but a poet writing in the 60s is not the best source for ancient religions. Especially not with a pre-1990s use of the word 'gnostic' which is among the top five the most controversial words in religious studies. Demons and angels are distinct categories. Not always the same distinction, that definitely varies a lot and sure placing individual figures or individual uses of names is a mess but the categories have a very long history and are not 'amateur misconceptions'. Samael is not Apollyon. Samael is a name that's used for a variety of figures to such a degree that no 'true' Samael exists as a specific concept while Abaddon and Apollyon are direct translations that both originate from the same passage in the Book of Revelation but also get used basically at random for whatever various writers have wanted throughout history. Dark Angels actually prioritise demonic/fallen angel names not use random Judeo-Christian ones. Azrael - Angel of Death, sometimes an angel, sometimes treated as equivilant to Azazel who is always evil and sometimes a fallen angel. Belial - 'Lord of Filth'/'The Worthless One'. One of only three demons mentioned by name in the canonical Gospels (or the only one since 'Legion' is a descriptor for a non-individual and 'Satan' is a job title). Asmodai - clearly derived from "Asmodeus" of unknown meaning, possibly 'demon of wrath' in Persian, one of the few demons mentioned by name in the deutercanon and a major evil figure in Jewish folklore and mysticism. Ezekiel - The only real outlier in the original Dark Angels cast. Ezekiel is the name of a Biblical prophet and an obscure non-fallen angel. Also a female fallen angel in the Video game El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron but I have no idea where they got that from because its not in the main sources that game uses. Gideon - Not an angel but got replaced by Sammael so clearly someone wasn't impressed by the name choice. Sammael - 'Venom of God', sometimes a fallen angel always an evil demon. Bethor - An Olympian Spirit from Renaissance Grimoire magic but those are basically just an idiosyncratic substitution for what are normally demons in that kind of magic (and aren't treated as that evil when they're explicitly called demons anyway). Also not really high ranked but was on the original special characters list. Sapphon - This is a sacred mountain in Canaanite but its associated with Baal which is always interpreted demonically in a Abrahamic context. Once you get into the lower ranks and latter sources the names get a bit less focused but with the core characters they're all 'dark angels' with the exception of Ezekiel. They're also all pretty basic choices except for Bethor and Sapphon so except for Ezekiel they're probably meant to give fallen angel or evil vibes. -

Oils don't act like enamels that's why you use one or the other. -
Question about successor chapters founded by the High Lords
Closet Skeleton replied to jaxom's topic in + ADEPTUS ASTARTES +
How much does any chapter know about Primarchs? Even most first founding chapters don't have accurate information about 10,000 years ago. Space marines are literally brainwashed as part of their training, they don't have more accurate information than anyone else in the Imperium. -
Omnis is shared with the Stormspeeder crew so its not unique.

Wh40k 10th Edition Chaos Daemons Index

They don't want any army to be a horde army, then make Battle Companies legal at 2k -
They're completely different. I've put metal arms onto the older plastic bodies and they look okay but the older plastics have smaller out of proportion arms compared to the current ones. Best fit for the old metal arms are actually Tartaros/Scarab Occult terminators. Only picture I have is the first one in the chaos link in my signature and there's no close up of the terminators. So I guess if you can't notice which arms are metal in that picture that might give a sort of answer. edit: On the other hand, I do have this post in that thread. Those are the new terminators and one has a metal arm.

Higher rate of fire doesn't make a personal weapon better, we could easily make guns with rediculous rates of fire but no-one would every be able to carry enough bulllets to keep it in action for more than a minute. Its nonsense to talk about the economics of completely different civilisations. In the real would a workshop built knock-off AK is cheaper than a factory built M16 but its still more economical for the US army to go to a factory and a 3rd world guerilla to go to a workshop, The Neophyte or Chaos Cultist autogun looks like a bulky un-ergonomic piece of :cuss: and is probably worse to use than a real world modern weapon.

Doesn't say anything about it being a man portable buster bunker. Rapier Laser Destroyer was 1d6+2d10+9 averaging 23.5 while a multi-melta was 1d6+2d12+8 so average 24.5. Regular meltagun was 2d6+8 so only averaging 15 and identical to an autocannon except for an extra point of anti-infantry AP while a lascannon was 3d6+9 so way superior to either. On the other hand melta weapons only had -4 AP while lascannons were -6 but that basically only mattered with terminators and their saving throw on 2d6. No short range rule existed other than a common +1 to hit shared with other weapons like plasma guns and bolters. So the multi-melta was definitely the best infantry portable gun if you ignore its move or fire and short range but 2nd edition wasn't like 3rd-7th where the only difference between multi-melta, meltagun or an inferno pistol was the optimum range.
