Tanksgiving part 1

So my gaming group is planning "Tanksgiving" Traitor vs Loyalist Tank on Tank action in November the weekend near Thanksgiving. Dates and time are not set but looking at one of those days during that time. Each player will have  up to 3,000 pts of Tanks and models with starting in transports, exception Deep Strikers start in reserve and do not need transports. Fade to Black......

Well its been awhile since I updated my blog.  But 2 Solar Auxila armies have started and there is a xenos threat on the horizon in my Local gaming group's HH battles. No Final Flight for WAR's Raptors

So this decision has been coming for a while......My Raptors will be no more.    When I started playing 40k in 2nd edition I played Space Wolves and then Sisters of Battle. During 3rd edition, I added Emperor's Children and Black Templars to the mix. XIX- Raven Guard- 2024 Goals

So my 2024 Gaming focus is going to be my Horus Heresy Raven Guard.  I need to build my army up so I can deal with the various forces I may be facing, when I get to play. One of the larger and more expensive goals is due around late November for a HH Tanksgiving game I am planning for my local gaming group. I have been purchasing various things for my different planned Companies and support units. I am going to be converting my 2 15 man squads to 2 5 man recon and 2 10 man seekers. I need more J

Happy New Year and all that jazz

Well after a long break, I have returned. While the break was more of adjusting to being as my Coworkers  call it being an "Insta Dad" and also not having a dedicated hobby area currently, made it hard to want to game.    I did make it out to lose a close game of Horus Heresy against @Entropomancer 's Iron Warriors. Well as I have been spending time away from my gaming group and spending it with my GF and her kids (7 boys ages 20 -biological son and her adopted boys 10, 9, 9, 7, 5, and 4), the group has run into a snag of sorts. Raptors vs Ravenguard

So every time a new edition my Raptors get kicked down the stairs.  My Raptors started out as 10th Co with support, 9th saw it adding a ton of Phobos as scouts were not troops. Now 10th ed is upon us and Phobos is not battle line. I was really planning on making my Leviathan, the Blood Angel Combat Patrol, and Boarding Patrol into Ravenguard.  Currently I am leaning towards making them Raptors. Pride of the Ravenguard

So I found out I have 20 Sisters of Silence and the BL Character model.....Not bad. Gonna do a squad of 15 with execution blades and the Character as my Abysmal HQ.   On the Ravenguard army front I have be list building and setting up the lists as different Companies, such as 901st Reconnaissance Company or the 509th Armored Company (TANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!). Victory or Death..............

So new GF insists I hang out with my Friend so I was able to go play a 1500 pt game of Horus Heresy vs my Friends Iron Warriors this weekend. Sadly I conceded due to loss of units that could hurt his Kratos and Contemptor. Dark Furies were awesome but needed to be shielded from shooting.  Once in range they were shot up by Shrapnel Bolters.  Jump Praetor fought well but ended up dying in a challenge to his Praetor.    I got home yesterday and started reorganizing the Pile of Shame.
