Thunderhawk round 2 part 2

Managed to get a decent prime coat on the thawk today aswell as priming a necron lord and chaos lord. It was interesting to see the difference between the black and grey primer going through the air brush, the thawk had  2 coats of grey whilst the necron and chaos lords only needed the one black undercoat in my opinion.  Both primers are vallejo thinned 2 primer :1 thinner with a couple of drops of flow improver. The black went down beautifully and as I said the grey needed a bit of going over.

Thunderhawk round 2 part 1

I had a stab at painting this thunderhawk previously with an air brush (my first time using one) and things did not go well!! So after a few days of soaking in floor cleaner and scrubbing with a tooth brush I think it's time for another go. Plan is to re prime it with vallejo grey primer as this stuff seems to go on smooth and very thin, much nicer than the halfords auto primer rattle cans that I have used for most of my guys to date! Tactical Marine

I've had a box of blood angels tactical marines that I have been painting up for a while now. This is the 10th and last one all done (finally!!) I've tried to go for an old but well maintained look, painting the chest decoration and other accessories in a weathered brass sort of style. I'm not a big fan of gems on armour so I painted these as brass aswell as I like the idea of decoration but not done in expensive or valuable materials as whats the point if its getting shot at!?
