It’s ALIVE….!

Roshi Malcolm Bisley the 7th company Dreadnought is now done.  I decided to paint him as a marine rather than a vehicle (using dazzle camouflage). He’s a heavy, beefy boy.  I was surprised how fiddly the model was, especially getting the arms the right way around.  I decided to use magnets for the chest guns but was always going to have the arm guns because of cool.  I couldn’t be bothered with magnets for the claws/fists so just went with the fists (the claws are pretty sharp and I reckon

My chapters Chaplains.

I’m pleased with how these guys turned out.  They act as “Sergeants” to my battleline berserking units who play as Death Company.  My chapter are non psyching rejects of Grey Knights with a Zen Buddhism vibe.  I’m not a fan of the look of GW chaplains so these Inner circle companions with the Steampunk old skool knight helmets and hoods made from green stuff.  To make them wysiwyg I added some aftermarket maces.  I shaved off some of the more ostentatious bits of the models and glued those extra

Praetorian (Sanguinary) Guard completed.

My Guards needed to be special but without being Sanguinary guard models with too many blood Angel references.  So I used the Armageddon jump Vanguard vets but gave them spears and “fancier” helmets.  I also liked the standout gold look pf the SG (although gold wouldn’t be my favourite choice) so thought about silver.  Problem was I had painted myself into a corner (pun intended) by saying my chapter don’t do shiny things.  To those end, and in fitting with my theme, I thought the most senior me

Vow number one completed

Having started the painting vow before 11th edition dropped I wanted to create some of the old Space Marine Combat Patrols using a handful of models.  I have now completed that vow and will move on to the next, which will add models that will make up the new Assault Force and Blood Angels patrols.
