About this blog

I do Guard, SM (my Ultima Founding SW successors, the Greymanes), and soon, Sisters (classic-style OOML).

Godwyn Bullroarer, Cyning of the Greymanes

Barely surviving his daring escape from the Chaos gulag world of Gharus XI, due to the interference of Warsmith Tarn and his Terminator retinue, the wounded Godwyn Bullroarer was dragging bleeding into the Webway by his Eldar Outcast compatriot, Niall Wayleaver. When they emerged from that labyrinth of subspaces, the two found themselves in no less danger, having exited the Webway on Fenris, home of the Space Wolves. There, in a isolated corner of the continent Asaheim, the injured Cyning was fo

Incursor Druht

With this unit, I bought the Phobos Strike Team KT box rather than the Infiltrators/Incursors dual kit. I very much recommend the former. Its bits give the otherwise bland models a proper SM feeling, particularly as seen with the Druht leader. I've never really been a big fan of Phobos since I reached hobby 'maturity'. I don't mind how they executed the tacticool look, but the basic troops are lacking on ornamentation without the upgrade sprue.    With the Haywire Mine guy, I brought out

Abrecan Inwyt, Chief Librarian of the Greymanes

Chief Librarian Abrecan Inwyt. At first a veteran Greyshield slated for joining his primogenitor in the Vlka Fenryka, he appealed to Lord-Regent Guilliman for reassignment to one of their burgeoning Ultima Foundjng Successors, the Greymanes. This was out of a sense that he, a quiet, withdrawn (perhaps sensitive) soul, never could find solace in the storm-calling Casters of Runes. In the long time since, he has endured beyond the eye of the Imperium’s populace. Though occluded from their knowledg

The Last Gesith Terminator (For Now) (WIP)

Lotta different stuff on this guy. For one, the fur is drybrushed, and the yellow on the chainfist casing is traditionally 'layered'. Additionally, I tried a version of a gold recipe suggested to me by @Bustaholic — VGC Copper with a TTC Sepia wash. Results look pretty good; I'm happy with it. There definitely was a huge 'ugly phase' to hack for the model as a whole, however. Especially the grey (no Greymanes without grey!) gave me challenges. Contrary to what I believed, Warpaints Fanatic De

Greymanes Hellblaster

This one is so-so, in my opinion. The face came out better than expected, despite my struggles with the ancient Blood Claw sculpt I affixed to the model many moons ago. I couldn't quite tell where the face ended and the hair began. However, the plasma glow and the patchy metallics leave something to be desired. That said, I haven't painted a Space Marine in a few weeks, so it's to be expected.

Infernus Druht

Elements of a Infernus Druht, unknown Fyrd, Greymanes chapter.   The totemic maul on the leftmost line-brother's shoulderpad represents service at the Defense of Rymr. Though contrary to the expectations of the Hearthspake, the Greymanes arrived unlooked-for to assist the Votann of that world in battle against Chaos marauders. A fierce battle, but ultimately a victorious one for the Fyrds gathered there.

Greymanes Infernus Druht Leader (WIP)

The Greymanes wear their Chapter's colours with pride. Their battle-plate is predominantly a dark grey, with pauldron insets typically being red. However, a wide variance in heraldry is permitted and often seen amongst their ranks. Some Greymanes druhts might use pauldron heraldry akin to the pack markings of the Space Wolves, while others still use Codex-standard markings. As well, whether or not the Chapter's or Fyrd's markings are prominently displayed is left up to the individual Battle-Brot
