"…and here we have not only a great example of the work you must undertake in order to keep our Chapter at fighting capacity, but an exemplar of our Chapter’s values.  This is Venerable Brother Akheron – now, you may have heard amongst some of our Brothers who have bestowed upon him the title the 'Illfortuned'.  From his first engagement as a line Intercessor – fighting to drive the Orks from our home Sector, where he lost an arm and leg to a crude Greenskin mechanised suit, it is true he has suffered many grievous wounds over the many battles he has fought in.  But by the time of his interment into a Redemptor Dreadnought chassis, he was Lieutenant of our 3rd Company.  It was at Lustris, fighting the hosts of the Traitors there - though we were victorious, he was beyond the help of the Apothecarion after being caught in the explosion that brought down the fallen Knight which lead the enemy’s forces.

Since then, interred in this Redemptor chassis, he has fought on with the tenacity and resilience that we must all aspire to, Brothers.  Those who would say Akheron is 'Illfortuned' would point to this campaign – it is true that, in each of over 10 engagements, his chassis was immobilised by the enemy.  Smashed asunder by Tyrannic xenoforms, or brought low by the unclean weaponry employed by other foul xenos.  Each time might have been the final, true end to Venerable Akheron’s service to the Chapter.  But each time, as though the Emperor Himself willed it so, his sarcophagus was undamaged.  Even when the Plasma Incinerator he bears took such damaged that it caused an explosion which consumed a host of the smaller Tyrannic creatures, the blast went away from the main chassis, burning the xenos instead.

No, I tell you, Venerable Brother Akheron is not 'Illfortuned'.  After each engagement, we have recovered his sarcophagus, and though we have replaced the chassis several times over, with a number of motive systems still not fully repaired before the next engagement, he still chose to fight on.  For that, I would call him Akheron 'the Unyielding'; Akheron the 'Unbeaten'.  In the face of destruction, he stands, as he knows it is his duty to defy the enemies of the Emperor.  We would do well to take inspiration from Akheron, not to mock him."
