More grey plastic...

Hello all,

A quick update, more just to show that this project is still alive than anything...

I wanted some heavy weapons troopers. Desolation Marines seemed like a good fit, or Devastators if points are tight, or maybe even Long Fangs (if the field manual ever actually has points for them).

However, like most people with a modicum of taste, I don't like the Desolator minis. On the other hand, I love the HH missile launchers, and especially the Proteus II pattern underslung variety.

So, after buying some Infernus Marines for cheap bodies, and a sprue of HH heavy weapons, this is what I came up with:

It was surprisingly easy to do, just needed a narrow strip of thin plasticard to make a vambrace connector. The backpacks are from Dragoon Gaming on Ebay (very nice prints too)

But other than that, I had another little project I was inspired to work on by the current Legio competition. I didn't want to do all 3 minis, but I did think it might be fun to do a mini-me!

Brother Librarian Lysimachus, of the Emperor's Blade Chapter

Obviously, it had to be a Librarian, but I felt that the official minis didn't really have a lot of bare armour to show off the Legio scheme and honours. So a conversion it would have to be! His body is a Sternguard with bits added from the Phobos Librarian, as well as a few of the older Libby plastic kits.

I even got one of those Green Stuff tube rollers for the chest cables - I should have bought one years ago, I can see it being very useful for all sorts of things!

Anyway, I'm still alive, I've even done a little bit of painting (though not enough to be worth showing off).

More later, thanks for looking!
