Skull Brethren Part 7: State of the Horde
Hey guys,
So this is the currently state of the Skull Brethren or at least the finished painted models. It's about 40 infantry, 6 characters, about 5 armoured assets and a pair of spawn. Probably south of 2000pts but over 1500pts for sure. Now what isn't here:
- 20 built but not painted Khorne Berzerkers. I haven't built up the painting willpower to tackle them yet. Although they will become a priority soon as 11 edition looms
- 2 more Chaos Spawn. I do run a list that requires 2 units of 2 spawn and what I usually do is run my Ogryn Berserkers(Traitor Guard Bullgryns) as spawn. Although it does work, I'm looking for some spawn models that are similar to the pair that I have now. More John Carpenter's The Things creatures
- Angron, still don't have him. He was higher up on my "to buy" list before he nerfed, but since then I haven't really bothered to get him
- The Khorne Daemonkin element, which is about 30 Bloodletters, 6 Bloodcrushers, and Skarbrand. I might drop a squad letters for space reasons. I'm also not and huge fan of the current Bloodletter line. I don't mind the khorne greater daemons as they are. So Skarbrand is good for me. It's just the rest of the lads.
- Lastly, The new Chaos Defiler. Which i bought on pre-order this weekend. I'm still trying to figure out the load out of the new World Eaters Defiler, my current thought is Ectoplasma destructor, Excruciator cannons, Electroscourge and Heavy baleflamer. Make it a close melee monster, a proper World Eaters Defiler. My alternate view is to change out the baleflamer, for the Hades Lascannon. My reasoning is to give it something to do during turn 1 shooting phase. I think the melee power is too good to make it a shooting beast. Maybe I will magnetizing it.
Other than that, I might do a head trade with my daemon prince with one of the defiler heads. But I see what's up when I get my hands on the model.
So that's it for the finished units of the Skull Brethren. Next time we will be looking at the allies of the Skull Brethren. The traitorous Astra Militarum, The Bloody Greys
