So tomorrow the Wife and I are leaving for a weekend away from the kids. We have rented a cabin with a private hot tub and are doing an unplugged weekend. She was very specific and said books and hobbies only. Electronics limited, my army building apps are fine but not sure how the cell service will be and it does have Wi-Fi, but not the point of an unplugged weekend. So I packed up basing supplies, bases, models, glues, tools, etc.

But what is with the Terminator References....the "I'll be back" makes sense and the "I need a Vacation" meme does too but what did I pack....

20 suits of Tactical Dreadnought Armor.....Terminators. 10 Assault and 10 Tactical. Time to knock them out. For my Howling Griffons. This brings up another thought I have been having. Most games I will run the Howling Griffons as Ultramarine Successors which grants me access to Calgar as my Chapter Master. If I were to run the 1st Company as Dark Angels, I could potential run the same 3 Terminator Assault Squads, 3 Terminator Tactical squads, add 3 Deathwing Terminator squads (PLASMA CANNONS!) , and Deathwing Knights* with my Captain based off of Belial count as Belial. 

A Minor issue is jumping between 2 different codexes. I like having the option, but I feel it may confuse my opponent, even if it is my gaming group. Other issue is the rules differences, even ever so slight. A major issue I know I would have is the 2nd Company....."Ravenwing". How could I play Dark Angels and not have Ravenwing. Bad enough my Howling Griffons are made up of the 1st, 5th**, and 10th Companies. So what will be my solution.....

.....Adeptus Custodes. I have some unbuilt older Custodes originally for my HH Ravenguard army, but I will not be adding them to my Ravenguard force.

And I have not touched my Custodes in 2 years....

Back to my Howling Griffons, I did some minor painting but did not take any photos. But Monday I will hopefully have pics of all the terminators I built. 

*One of the Terminator Assault squads is getting sculpted tabards and swords instead of thunder hammers just for modeling purposes.

** All non 1st and 10th Company models will be 5th. I always make my marines 5th company as I like the Company badges and shoulder trim
