Lists for the List God: Loxodon Guard 2026 Codex Edition

Hello fine folks of B&C. I'm back with another edition of Lists for the lists God. This time, with the space marine codex basically leaked online. I thought it would be great to start listening crafting before the physical copy get in my hands. The Loxodon Guard are a homebrew chapter with no definitive parent legion. This basically means I have the whole space marine range of rules to play with. Last time, I dip my toes into the Dark Angels with the Dark Age Arsenal the last time. Unfortunately with the massive update that is this codex is bringing, that detachment is gone.

But of course we have options. Like before I have 2 lists. Each like has what I like to call "the core". Basically the main damage dealers and the units I like to play with the most. The core units are 2 Redemptors Dreads, 2 Ballistius Dreads, 2 10 man squads of hellblasters and 2 6 man squads of Blade guard vets. The detachments and other units are there to support the core or to do tasks that the core units can't. So let's start with first list which I call The Loxodon Phalanx

Thoughts: Calgar goes with one the blade guard units and goes deep striking with them. The apothecaries go with each of the hellblasters. I'm using Firestorm to leverage the rapid fire of the intercessors and hellblasters. Of course this list has Ironclad Champions, with 4 dreads walking around. I'm not sure if the Artificer Sarcophagus is worth it. I'm planning on them being frontline operators. Maybe venerable champion upgrade is better? Have them each near a hellblaster unit. It would also me to turn one of the apothecaries into a lieutenant with Honour of Vigilance.

I'm using a proxy for Calgar (A Saturnine Praetor) and in the case of someone not down with proxies I would replace Calgar with a captain and another squad of intercessors.

Thoughts: So I call this list, The Tusk Charge. It's a little all over the place. The captain and chaplain join the blade guard units. The apothecaries go with the hellblasters. The techmarine hangs out with the Ballistius dreads repairing them. The eliminators infiltrate into the mid board and pretty much act as a speed bump. Scouts would probably work better but I don't have them. Intercessors might be a better fit. The callidus assassin will hop around and steal any objectives that are unguarded.

I also finished the 2nd apothecary. Next model we'll be the Calgar proxy.
