Haldrik Sornfell

Haldrik Sornfell earned his place among the Gardhird’s Berserks not through battlefield glory, but through the long, crushing labor of the deep stone. For decades he worked the magma‑veins and void mines, swinging a heavy mining pick in tight tunnels that offered no room for automated drills. That pick, scarred, heat‑darkened and etched with the names of fallen miners and friends, is the same weapon he wields now, reforged into a polearm that carries the weight of his past with every strike.

Haldrik fights as one who has already survived the mountain’s judgment. His movements are deliberate, grounded, shaped by years of carving through stubborn rock rather than enemy flesh. When he enters the burning mind combat trance, the grav‑nodes in his bones hum in resonance with the old mining rhythms, turning each swing of his polearm into a seismic blow that cracks armor the way he once cracked stone.

Among the Berserks, Haldrik is quiet and almost solemn. He speaks rarely, but when he does, it is with the steady certainty of someone who has spent a lifetime listening to the depths of planets and asteroids. His oath is simple: to break what must be broken; whether that is a fortified line, a monstrous foe, or the chains of fear that bind lesser warriors.

Haldrik Sornfell is the embodiment of the Solbond Gardhird creed: A miner who became a warrior, a laborer who became a legend, and a Berserk whose every strike still carries the echo of the deep earth.
