When life gives you lemons....

WAR

Well it has been an interesting few months, but it is probably time I talk about it.  Right after my 2 games 2 weeks ago, when I purchased more Novitiates and picked up my 2 Inquisition Kill teams, I left the LGS and picked up my GF from the airport. On the way back home, my GF asked how gaming went so I told her even though I lost and my dice hate me, I still had fun.  We started talking about it, and as she is not into gaming at, so I was vague.

So my GF is a childhood friend, that we have known other since we were 11 years old (we are 44 now). We dated in High School and a little after and got engaged. We were too young, immature, and have too many outside influences leading to us breaking up. One of the issues was she felt, I was replacing her with gaming/ 40k. Fast forward to earlier this year, we reconnect and both our current relationships have ended. We both admit to missing each others friendships, as we truly trusted each other with everything and were very close growing up. Knowing she had an issue with gaming/ 40k, I avoided bringing it up. One day after we both agreed we wanted more and were willing to give it a chance again. She asked  this question, "do you still do your miniature gaming?" I replied "yes", knowing I can not lie to her (we have this weird ability with each other to know when the other is lying). She responded "good, you need to do things without me, and I need to do things without you. I am glad you are still gaming." Huge weight lifted. I have played more this year than in years past because of her.  And the other day she did pick up the Target exclusive Space Marine boxed game so I can introduce her kids to 40k. She is has always been the love of my life.
