I'm really happy with how my Celebrants army is progressing. I'm not that bothered about list building in general and don't play very often anyway, but I do quite like having something to work towards? Therefore, I've worked out a new list (using the updated Munitorum Field Manual points as per what was revealed in the latest Goonhammer article):

So, 4 Characters, 5 Vehicles, 5 squads. It's not intended to be mega-competitive, just a fun list that should hopefully do ok?

With points lowered across a lot of the units I have, I decided to use the extra I'd gained to replace the Gladiator Lancer I had previously been planning to get with a standard Repulsor that would carry the Capt+Ancient+Infernus, as they lacked any kind of mobility, which is apparently very important with such a short ranged unit? The anti-tank weapons on the Repulsor obvs aren't quite as strong as the Lancer, but there are more of them and the +1 Str under 12" should help too?

(I figured with the Infernus+Repulsor and Hellblasters+Impulsor, switching from Gladius to the Firestorm Detachment just made sense?)

I also think in Firestorm the TDA Deep Striking in at 9-12" should be pretty good at killing troops and screens/chaff? 4 shots each at Str5, plus Str7 AssCan and Libby chucking in his +1Str Smite (psychic guns are still Ranged Weapons, right?) and adding Sustained Hits too. They can also go after heavier stuff with their Fists as well.

Flyers are bad in 10th, I know, but I think at 155pts, the Stormhawk actually has a half-valid spot? Obviously leave it in Hover mode, it's got a good number of guns and with that 20" move it should be able to get in close enough to get the +1 Str on all of them. I'd use it to pick off exposed targets, etc.

Canis Rex is a great pick for an allied Knight, but more importantly for me, it's an opportunity to do something more sombre to contrast with the bright Celebrant colours (it would be counts-as CR in rules, but in terms of painting+fluff it will be a different Freeblade) Maybe I will challenge myself to do some freehand art on the armour panels?

Still waiting on costs for the Firestorm Enhancements, but 55pts leftover should be plenty to add in a few cool bits, and/or provide a bit of leeway if points go back up or move around any more.

Anyway, the list above shows where I am:

the greens are complete,
orange I have the minis built but they are still paint WIP,
the reds I haven't bought at all yet (y'know, just in case some mysterious and wealthy benefactor wants to send me a Repulsor or a Questoris Knight box...! ). But I'm really happy with how the number of greens is growing!

So, we're getting there!!!
