Homebrew Lore: The Mavor Sub-Sector

The gate to the Eastern Fringe. The front-lines against the Tau, the Grendl, what have you. The frontier. Mavor is this and much more, to many people and even more numerous peoples, both humans and foul xenos. Here, the Imperium presses against its very limits, against the bounds of the Astronomican. It is a space of conflict, of expansion, and often, horrific human tragedy.

Notable Worlds
  • New Albia [Chapter Homeworld], Homeworld of the Greymanes Chapter.
  • Immram [PERDITA], currently overrun by the Ruddy Redemption, a horde of insane mortal Khornates led by the mad demagogue Ironeus. Their initiation rituals are marked out by the application of a molten iron mask to the new member’s face, where it stays – permanently. Fire and murder are the objects of their worship. Their cry in battle is a horrific one – “be redeemed through blood, saved through slaughter”. Ranged against them are the equally heretical Sensei, the so-called hero-sons of the Emperor, and a Commandery of the Order of Our Martyred Lady.
  • Fennia [Feral World], a world of mountains and proud mountaineers. Most human settlements take the form of armed camps. Of little strategic value beyond the use of its inhabitants in the Fennian Fianna Regiments of the Astra Militarum. The Fianna are known for their ill temper and ‘loose’ discipline.
  • Tir Ablach [Agri World], breadbasket of the sector. Atmosphere is mostly carbon dioxide, requiring the use of rebreathers by the immigrant day-laborers outside of climate-controlled domes. Note: perfidious T’au emissaries have been reportedly sighted here, if the reports of Ordos Xenos Inquisitors are to be believed.
  • Avidya [PERDITA], site of a horrific, cruel civil war. Formerly a Mining World. Currently off-limits to immigration while the Inquisition reforms and purges the government. Also known, rightly, as ‘the Hell-World’.
  • Rymr [Kin World], where the Kin of the Rymr Alliance reside. It has several Holds on it, fusions of fortress, foundries, and mines. In its orbit is another Hold, the Sunderers’ Eye, that serves as a launching-off point and logistics hub for the Kinhost.
  • Heliade [Forge World], perhaps one of the most distant Forge Worlds from Mars. Heliade has several oath-sworn Forge Moons in the orbits of New Albia. Heliade’s ruling Magi and their subordinate Tech-Guard are distinguished by their traditionalist, perfunctory approach to artifice, war, and the Cult of the Machine God, preferring ‘tried and true’ methods.
