How to pretend not to start a GSC army - Part 4

Hi folks,

As a fourth act in this series that I left aside for a while, here are some progresses to be shared: the kit bashed HW teams have been painted.

As previously ibntroduced in the second part of this serie ( or was it the first one?), using a single kit of ooP Cadian HW plus GSC cultists and extra crew members from the GOliath kit allows reaching 18 footsloggers and puting in service 3 types of HW. In my case; ML; Autocannon and mortars. I like the vibe of the last HW, very Band of Brother - the Pacific... ALthough arguably efficient gamewise.

I used a blue and white paint scheme that has been inspired by a LR pic from WarCom with a tank commander in that set of colours. It is a scheme I used tentatively on a catachan fighter mounted at the rear of my kit-bashed Macaldor Defender (see BCK vehicle challenge gallery). But the quality I have been able to achieve is several steps bellow. It is BTW a painful experience that painting GSC models. I did not succeed into finding the proper balance due to the complexity of the molding. All the details do not leave many place to error and it is, let say, a series of "unforgiving" sculpts. At least it is how I felt it.

The results:

Should I set a background story, I would define these models as belonging to Mittgard's PDF, now destroyed. Because they are potential SW auxilliaries, remember the LR I painted 2 or 3 years ago. Either this or members of Kallidus PDF, a hive world Space Hulk's players will remember as being the setting of the SW Wolf guard termies scenarios: a world that used to be a theater of war in HH era, disputed by DA and SW and finally leal to SW... But victim of a GSC infestation and subject to Exterminatus by the Space puppies themselves... But I am not playing GSC (am I?) so this is a very very hypothetic second option...

As one can see, it also solves part of the "Mystery Base" I set in the previous Blog entry. As no-one dared setting any hypothesis, the treatment of none received proposals is made easier for me: no-one found. Yet these are only 9 bases from the 12 proposed, so there is still opportunities for the 3 remaining ones! Don't be shy, go and propose something for the muddy bases!

See you soon with more stuff.
