Regiments of Aidaca

A warm and overpopulated planet, Aidaca is the origin of some of the most well disciplined regiments in the region. Their loyalty makes them well suited to garrison all sorts of important locations, including centres of industry and other locations of value. Used to living in places with high temperatures, the regiments of Aidaca are commonly seen wearing long coats over their armour, in order to help them endure the colder temperatures of the majority of the imperial colonies. Although they are mostly seen on garrison duty, many regiments are sent into war zones with the intention of capturing particularly important objectives, regardless of the opposition.

Despite the high population of Aidaca, the regiments recruited there are not meant to be thrown away in futile assaults, but rather used in well coordinated assaults, where the soldiers are expected to conquer ground quickly by using distractions and small veteran forces to penetrate deeply into enemy territory, in order to hold valuable locations against the enemy. Many regiments recruited on Aidaca have proved instrumental for the victory during specific campaigns and most other imperial forces are usually happy to fight side by side with the soldiers of the warm planet.

The most interesting trait of the people of Aidaca is not their combat abilities, however, but rather the gift of tongues, which allows them to quickly learn the local dialects and languages of the planets they are sent to garrison. They master the languages of other humans so easily, that in a few months a soldier will be able to speak like the locals and disguise itself as one of them for infiltration missions, in case potential rebellions are detected.

Due to their diversified culture, soldiers from Aidaca often display a variety of different wargear, including helmets, but their long coats are typically a distinct trait, unless they are fighting on a planet similar to their homeworld.

Many battlefields require the use of gas masks, so it is common to see the soldiers of Aidaca wearing this kind of equipment.

Long rifles with bayonets are the standard issue weapon for Aidacans, which they use with great precision both at range and in close quarters combat.

The long plasma weapons are typically preferred by Aidacans, as their greater precision works well against heavy armoured infantry or even lighter vehicles, when compared with regular plasma guns or pistols.

Regiments recruited from Aidaca will often use uniform colours that stand out in most environments, unless they are working on infiltration or scouting missions, with each regiment possessing their own colour scheme that makes them easy to distinguish on the battlefield, even from a distance. Below are some examples of the colour schemes used by the soldiers of Aidaca.

While there's nothing wrong with the Cadians or other official GW regiments/planets, it's always refreshing to see creative hobbyists presenting their unique regiments of the Astra Militarum.

@Brother Tyler Thanks, these regiments are based on a series of non-40k sci-fi books that I have written (some of the concepts in that universe are similar to 40k but it is not so grim as the endless war in GW's IP). My collection of miniatures is in great part an attempt to represent some of the groups and factions in my books in a physical form, using miniatures from GW and other sources (Cornelivs, the main character, is a GSC model, along with his miner friends, just as an example).

Aidacans are used throughout the books in all sorts of garrison duties or attacks because of their natural traits and the cultural variety they have made me think about using the grognards from Wargames Atlantic as the base.
I have some more regiments that I will post in their own blog entries once I have painted all the individual platoons.
