Overview

Trying to get this knocked out fast so I might as well vow it as a second vow this month, even if it seems unlikely I'll actually get it done. I, Khulu, vow to paint one Kratos by the end of the month:

Since I had a day off today, I decided to do a quick and easy paint-job on a unit of Hormagaunts. I think I can finish the Tyranid army in the coming weeks, and then will concentrate on the Kill Teams and my Night Lord army.

And here come my completed entries for this mnth of January: - 1 Inquisitor, - 2 Dev. Detachments, plus 1 Speeders Detachment - First Company in power armour - Battle Company More in my Blog (first post of 2026, wohoo!):

January vow is completed: 1 cat 2 dogs 4 scums (Nameless Bob, Sand Person, Ice T and Vin Promethium) 4 cops 1 Knight's pilot (first mini I have painted with regular acrilics since AP's Speedpains came out) As I still have some hobby time this month, I am starting to work on my Plodding Along with datasmith and dominus (I don't expect to finish them both by the end of the month, but who knows)

Er, things have changed......missed that. I, Dwango, embark on the 12 Months of Hobby Challenge, and for the month of January pledge to complete 9 assault marines, 10 red hand destroyers and a moritat for heresy world eaters, 1 speeder 3 bikes and a chaplain for 40k dangles by month's end. Not sure how this fits in to the campaign but I'll work it out I'm sure.

If you earn "requisition" badges in january an february, do they earn you requisition points for later when the campaign actually starts?

1. How do I choose my Faction? - Your Faction, and Secret Agenda, is determined by which Model you choose to be your Leader. Lets say you've decided to paint your Blackstone Fortress Heroes for this Challenge. If you choose Rein and/or Raus as your Leader, your Faction would be Ratlings. Hoxever, were you to choose Dahyak Grekh, the Kroot Tracker, your Faction and Secret Agenda will be T'au. 2. Does my Kill Team have to be "Game Legal"? - NO!! Rule of Cool here, feel free to mix and match your collection to fit the monthly model target. Preferrably it would be a fluffy / plausable choice, but it's not required. 3. What happens if I miss a month...or three? - Your team will NOT gain that months model buffs, you may however catchup the missing models at any time, and may choose to skip the models you've missed and pickup in whatever the current month is. 4. I've joined the Campaign mid-year, how can I catchup? - You may makeup the missing models up to the current month at your own pace, you may skip members if you choose, BUT you MUST include your Leader model before any Actions may be Taken. 5. Can I run multiple Teams? - Yes, BUT, all Campaign Rules for Attacking, Defending, and Posture apply, no free passes to your Teams. 6. What if my Faction / Team doesn't have an appropriate unit / model for the Month? E.G. Heretic Astartes don't have Medics / Apothecaries. - Each Model adds a ATT or DEF buff to the team, an appropriate model for that buff will be acceptable. The Medic add a DEF buff, so a Faction model that looks to add a DEF buff would be appropriate. Please add any further questions you may have

I, Combat_Vet , embark on the 12 Months of Hobby Challenge, and for the month of January pledge to complete 5 Scouts for the Marines Malevolent by month's end. I still have to build the fifth man.

The Campaign Rules tab has been updated, more specific info on tiles, interactions and Requisition to come next month...

The Rules will be posted this month, and the How the Map works, and different tile types in Feb. The first model for the Kill Team is due in March, and will be the "Commander" of the Kill Team. The Commander you choose will dictate the Secret Agenda you will receive. There is nothing stopping you from getting a head start on building and even base colours, but the way it's structed for one model a month maintains a sort of balance / parity. If for whatever reason a month is missed, catching up in a single month is acceptable. Participants who join the Challenge later in the year can also catch up to where we're at, but MUST include the Commander.

The incursors are half done, but I need to get them over the line. Might be pushing it for 18 days but I'll give it a go!
