Marines Exemplar Chapter Badge (special Captain version)

Since this guy is a Captain, I decided that his version of the Chapter Badge would be a bit special. One of the Death Company shoulder pads (or maybe it was a Legion of the Damned shoulder pad) was used, and I decided to make the skull gold. I don't recall if I'd decided on the color for the pointy halo bits, but I guess that's moot since I never actually got around to adding them. In all likelihood, they'll end up being the same gold as the rest of the skull.

I decided to give him some decorations to help emphasize his long service and experience. You can see the designs added in black in the corners of the shoulder pads - a black fermee cross in the rear and half of an aquila in the front. All you can see at present are the black bases for those designs - they're going to be defined better with shading and what-not. I was going for the more baroque feel that can be seen in the drawings/paintings and larger scale images.

You can also see the as-yet unpainted combat shield. That's one of the arm shields from the old terminators. I hadn't decided on any designs for the combat shield, hence the lack of any imagery on it (yet). Based on the size of the old storm shields, I figured that the combat shields would be closer in size to bucklers.
