Vallejo Rust Effects

So I really want my DG to look like rusted relics; leftovers from the days of Heresy. After much deliberation, I finally decided on the Vallejo Rust and Chipping Effects box found at my local Hobby Lobby. Tack on the fantastic 40% coupon, and the set of 8 airbrush ready paints was just too good a deal to pass on. I also purchased a decorative base on ebay for my BT Contemptor Dread I'm painting up in the San Antonio CK Studios Airbrush 101. The plan is to use the various colors included and chipping medium to lay a base coat. I'll add some muted blues, greens, reds, etc to the smashed conexes Mr. Dread will be standing on; then scratch the crap out of them. I'll do something similar with my Plague Marine test model; except for the pretty colors....he will be painted to, hopefully, represent the old colors...very very old; with loads of dinge and hints of green. Not sure how he'll turn out. First step down....so far so good.
