Hi everyone I last played Kill Team probably about 5 years ago before it was revamped, back then it was just a mini version of 8th edition and while not perfect fairly good fun. I was reviewing some of the new rules and the set teams and the first things that stood out was generally how weak marines are. The set teams suggest that 7 standard guard or 5 scions can go toe to toe with 5 intercessors or even 10 scouts. Am I reading this right? The version of KT I’m more familiar with had it’s problems, I mean Terminations and custodes had no business being there but something feels a bit off about this edition. Im setting up a one off session with some friends this weekend, think I’ll just go with the old rules I know

Agreed I’d like more chaos undivided, in Gate of Bones there was a fairly unlikely Iron Warrior who ascended to demon prince, I’d like to see how he’s going on. On the table top I’d like a proper Traitor Guard with some of the units described in the Gaunts Ghosts books. Only having the mono god units kind of cheapens them, like actual Blood Letters manifesting should feel like the end of the world

Is that the first ever female HH model? Genuine question as I’m not familiar with the range!

I really like his Guard books, I hope he does another one.

I have the LEs for the main Siege series. After the farce with TEATD 3 this LE can get in the bin

I have 10 legionnaires still on the sprue, if I did get the army box I’d definitely kit bash as I think at that scale it might be more noticeable

One thing I’d really like is an apothecary equivalent. The ECs were supposed to have more than the other legions (due to the blight) and it would be cool to see this carried over into a hero character. The DG have a number of these buffing/ nerfing characters, a corrupted apothecary doing all the unnecessary surgery would be cool

I actually really like that they’ve gone marine heavy and little bit of lore that the battle line marines think they are the best that marines can be. Differentiates them from the other dedicated legions, that as they are such perfectionists that they keep some legionary tactics even after 10,000 in stark come to how the WE, DG and TS have developed

Going to have to get some noise Marines. I wonder if the legionary’s sprue has any spare heads or bits you could combine with a box of Terminators. maybe time to get a land raider…

Worth reading then? I quite like William Kings Marcharius series, was meaning to check out his other stuff

Been busy reading some other fantasy stuff, big change from a few years ago where every second novel was a 40k one. Where the heck are they? Last decent new thing I read was Chris Wraights dawn of fire novel. I've still to read King of the Spoil at least, but I want some Guard, anything by ABD, Fehevari. C'mon Games Workshop!!!

Well that's it done, my thoughts aren't too different from the general consensus:

Unfortunately I've gone with a scalper. I can't have all books bar the finale even though the last one is a bloated mess. Not buying limited editions again unless they ramp up the number to something like 5000-10000

Correct me if I'm wrong, but then to use this system you need to log in an hour before and what, open a new tab every 5 minutes to get multiple queue slots to try ensure you are logged in at 9.54? Brilliant.
