  1. Fair enough. For the record I wasn't referring to people trait hopping, but more like that only 2-3 are competitive. So like 90% of players choosing from those 3. I respect anyone who chooses based on flavor and sacrifices the obvious advantage of master artisans. Not every chapter are master artisans, but you'd think that based on the community.
  2. Not to mention the fact that maybe only a quarter of them are impactful. I really enjoy their presence, but it's so boring seeing the same 3 used over and over again.
  3. I definitely agree. Like, painting inceptors or Suppressors gold in no way makes them Primaris Sanguinary Guard. They obviously need a proper kit.
  4. I understand and agree with this sentiment, but I honestly think there is room for both. Like having ultra unique snow flake units is awesome, but flavored variation on interesting units might be a good holdover and addition to the more divergent units. I mean just look at Grey Hunters and Crusader Squads. They are just a Tac squad, and Tac/Scout combined unit respectively, with very minor wargear alterations. I love this kind of unit tinkering. Not every one needs snowflake Terminators, bikes, and Jump marines. Some do need those things, but others would fine with a more subtle flavored version of the baseline unit.
  5. Specifically easy wins for GW, production wise. Like no new models, but unique spins on existing kits like the mentioned Reiver and Intercessors. All you need is rules to make them work. And if you must, repackage the appropriate chapter upgrade sprue with the intended unit. Wah-la, new unit.
  6. Do you guys think we will get more units like Hounds of Morkai and Death Company Intercessors? I think these units, while maybe not competitive, do a decent enough job of injecting flavor and uniqueness, while not necessarily needing new models. Like if they just repackaged (primaris unit x) with a themed upgrade sprue, you could do a lot. Like a Raven Guard themed upgrade sprue and bonus rules for a Phobos unit (take your pick). Or Bladeguard with Dark Angel Death wing style blades and shields. Or White Scars version of Hopefully an eventual Outrider MPK.
  7. Unfortunately, I agree and expect that. Was just searching for a silver lining. Gonna be extremely lame if Sternguard are limited to 2x of each Combi per 5 guys. It's like their one thing at this point.
  8. I will look forward to Tacticals with 1 each of the 4 special weapons and a ML haha. I won't look forward to capping heavy weapons to 2 of any one kind on Devs.
  9. Agreed. Like LordNord said above, there is too many inconsistencies and a lot with Primaris that doesn't make sense. It's not in a great place. But the models... Top tier. With the exception of a few questionable choices (Aggressors and Suppressors come to mind) they are great. I even own Aggressors and Suppressors. I'm just happy they are willing to try knew things.
  10. It's all semantics of course, but I don't think people mean technology is "advancing" per say. But that innovation and creativity are allowed. Nobody sought to extend the barrel of a boltgun for 10,000 years. A marine in the Unification Wars and a marine in the 13th Black Crusade are using the exact same weapons. Literally, in some exceptional venerable cases. Cawl comes a long and adds some simple barrel extensions, scopes, and munitions optimizations. It's not like it's a stupid idea. It's just that it's surprising that he got away with it in the 40k setting.
  11. I would just like to nip this claim in the bud. GW has gone out of their way to pay lip service to the idea that Primaris are Legions 2.0, however they have done an absolutely atrocious job of conveying that idea. They are really bad at the "show, don't tell" way of story telling. Primaris operating in any way like Legions of 30k is laughable. They don't have the numbers or logistics to make that work. Maybe in the future GW will fill in the gaps with a heap ton of retcons. I'm hoping so anyway.
  12. Edit: replied to wrong post. I agree with what you're saying.
  13. Honestly, without looking up, all I can remember is Heroes blind draws, anything Heresy related, a single promotional Terminator Librarian, and a Black Templar that GW says could be either/or FB or Primaris. So if you look at that list, it's easy to dismiss each of those things as "technically doesn't count". So I get it.
  14. I hope they at least get a drop pod
  15. It's not about not liking Primaris for me. I DO like them. Most of the models are fan-freaking-tastic actually. The lore is also great in theory. It's the execution that was garbage, and more or less still is. But that isn't the point here. Just because primaris exist now, does not mean first born should just cease to. My aim is to take up the dying cause of seeing that they don't just get dropped. I enjoyed 7th (mostly), I enjoy 30k and HH/AoD, and I really enjoy Primaris and 9th as well. I just don't like that people get blinders on and start taking absolutist positions that they see constantly regurgitated by influencers and others in their echo chambers. I don't want GW thinking those opinions are everyone's. Being able to play that lore out in the most current game system is what I was referring to, and you know it. Please don't be obtuse, sir/madam.
