  1. Time to be tarred & feathered for not reading the thread more closely
  2. Stealth update - this model just got rules: https://assets.warhammer-community.com/horusheresy_additionalrules_warsmith_dominus_eng-9ngn2fiegx-mt2z5uei0r.pdf
  3. Unpopular opinion incoming....I welcome a new edition. To take a step back from internet negativity, the attention GW has given this game system over the past 2.5 years has been nothing short of astounding. Plastic renditions of so many kits that previously were out of reach for folks who didn't have the time, money, or modeling wherewithal to deal with resin. Accessible ways to get into non-marine armies. A much, much, MUCH lower barrier to entry for the hobby. I've been running heresy events for the better part of a decade at this point and I can tell you that, at least in my local community, heresy has never seen more interest. For as much as we complain about the lack of a WE praetor or whatever, the vast amounts of new and updated kits we've received recently is, IMHO, more-or-less beyond reproach. But all that's to say, I think 2.0 from a rules perspective has quite a few shortcomings. Unbalanced reactions, lack of balance in general (both internally within Libers and across army lists), boring missions, and the lack of a consistent design philosophy. To me, it's always felt like a sidegrade from 1.0 - some things are better, some things are worse. So I'm excited for the prospect of a new edition that can smooth out some of these rough edges and actually make this game *fun to play.*
  4. I feel like "totally didn't even care" is a bit hyperbolic. There were lots of pretty smart decisions in the tac marine kits (interchangeable weapons, the standardized accessory sprue, the separate mk III vambraces, the special and heavy weapon kits). Was the assault marine debacle just that they took a while to come out? I think you are right though that they didn't probably plan to refresh the entire range. My guess is that they probably thought despoilers were going to be the super niche choice they were back in 1.0...which definitely turned out *not* to be the case.
  5. The description Valrak gave really made me think of the Blade-Slaves from 30k Word Bearers: So maybe like this, but fancier? Former palatine blades who are so devoted that they've fused with their weapons?
  6. This seems like a safe bet, given that 1) the other god-aligned legions we've seen have been associated with other marks (III for DG, IV for TKSons, V (sort of?) for WE) and 2) recent 30k lore has out-and-out said that EC's favored MK VI at the end of the heresy.
  7. I use one for my Space Wolves, all mounted on jetbikes. Mounted command squads are great buys because they score, have 2+ saves, better WS and better weapon options than the squad-based alternatives for not that many more points. For Space Wolves in particular they're even better, because with legion rules they get an additional +1 WS on the charge.
  8. I'm pretty excited at the prospect of a roadmap, honestly. We're almost certain to get more information about the future of the game than, say, the "reveal" we got at Adepticon this year, which was a 30 second trailer for an announcement that gave us nothing but "mech is coming."
  9. I love all the suggestions in this thread for bringing a bit more character back to the praetor beyond just "he hits real hard." If there is a desire to give him more combat utility, maybe bring back something like the orbital bombardment the old Master of Signals had. Give him a S10 AP1 large blast he can slap down on the field once per game or something.
  10. 60mm, per a comment from GW on Facebook.
  11. ...how are we even having a debate about whether the standard bearer is resin or plastic? There's a plastic command squad on the roadmap for spring. Occam's razor would dictate this fits with that kit.
  12. ...what? His whole body + helmet are clearly Mk V.
  13. A safe bet seems like a painted reveal of the Mk. VI assault squad.
