  3. Hail Brothers and Sisters! Have my first games for a very, very long time this week and wanted the communities feedback on my intended list and how to run it. Restricted by what I own as just starting out. Tournament escalates from 500 to 750 to 1,000 points over 3 rounds and we vote what to add next round e.g Vehicle however this restriction isn't that important. First round is combat patrol rules so learning those. Then reverts to standard rules. Ideally this is a learning experience with both 10th edition maneuvers and units for a 2k list. At the moment my list is; Librarian in terminator armour X 1. Ballistus dreadnaught x1. Baal predator X 1. Jet pack intercessors X 5. Intercessors X 5. 500 points on the dial. Not ideal to not run the Librarian in a squad. Leaves me with the dilemma about starting him on the table or not. The alternative list is; Librarian in terminator armour x1. Terminators x5. Ballistus Dreadnaught X1. Jetpack intercessors x5. Or intercessors x5. Loose the Baal predator and either mobility or shooting from a squad so both play a bit differently. Any ideas please? Thanks, Brother Raul.
  4. Greets, all !! I'll be in Shanghai this weekend for the team tournament along with 10 other 6 man teams! I'll be taking my BA in preparation for the WTC Warmasters in Belgium this year. (no placement hopes, obvs, just want the cool experience!) But, I'll be taking this Fleshtearers list!!! GLADIUS BA Gabriel Seth Biologus - Firce Disc Captain - JP, Hammer, Shield Librarian Dread -HF DC Dreadnought - 2HF, Magna 5x Scouts - 1shotgun, 3 CCW 5x Scouts - 1shotgun, 3 CCW 5x Jump Intercessors - 2Plasma, 1Fist 5x Jump Intercessors - 2Plasma, 1Fist 5x Assault Intercessors -1Plasma,1Fist 5x Sanguinary Guard - 1Fist, Banner, 5IP 5x Sanguinary Guard - 1Fist, Banner, 5IP 1x Ballistus 6x Aggressors - Bolt Guantlets 6x Devastator Centurians Will hopefully keep you all posted with pics and deets!
  5. I'll go into more detail with an article on the main board soon, but the idea/theme for this list is for two threats buffed to the hilt (and with enough synergy/chaff from the supporting elements to pull it off). This was supposed to be theoretical, but I actually had a game with it this other night on the spur of the moment (report arrive soonTM). Below is my initial gambit and I'm sure there's room for improvement; I certainly have some ideas on where to go with it 2000 "Troop Spam" TAC list Blood Angels Battalion Detachment HQ Captain ~ Master-crafted boltgun, thunder hammer, jump pack ~ Warlord: Artisan of War Captain ~ Master-crafted boltgun, chainsword ~ Veritas Vitae Troops Scouts (5) ~ Bolt pistol, chainsword ~ Combat blade (4) Scouts (5) ~ Bolt pistol, chainsword ~ Combat blade (4) Scouts (5) ~ Bolter, chainsword ~ Shotgun (4) Elites Company Ancient ~ Boltgun Terminator Squad (5) ~ Storm bolter, power sowrd ~ Assault Cannon, power fist ~ Storm bolter, power fist (3) Fast Attack Scout Bikes (3) Scout Bikes (3) Blood Angels Battalion Detachment HQ Librarian ~ Bolt pistol, force stave, jump pack ~ Unleash Rage, Shield of Sanguinius, Smite Sanguinary Priest ~ Bolt pistol, chainsword, jump pack Troops Scouts (5) ~ Bolter, chainsword ~ Bolter (4) Scouts (5) ~ Bolter, chainsword ~ Bolter (4) Scouts (5) ~ Bolter, chainsword ~ Bolter (4) Heavy Support Rapier Carrier (1) ~ Quad launcher Devastator Squad (5) ~ Armorium Cherub ~ Bolter (3) ~ Grav-cannon & grav-amp ~ Heavy bolter Devastator Squad (5) ~ Armorium Cherub ~ Bolter (3) ~ Grav-cannon & grav-amp ~ Missile Launcher Blood Angels Vanguard Detachment HQ Lieutenant (2) ~ Hand flamer, chainsword, jump pack (Angel's Wing) (1) ~ Master-crafted bolter, chainsword (1) Elites Sanguinary Ancient ~ Angelus boltgun, power fist, death mask ~ Standard of Sacrifice Sanguinary Guard (4) ~ Angelus boltgun, encarmine sword (3) ~ Angelus boltgun, power fist (1) Sanguinary Guard (4) ~ Angelus boltgun, encarmine sword (3) ~ Angelus boltgun, power fist (1) Musings 14 CP, Captain Smash is the warlord... Block one is two squads of Sanguinary Guard backed up with an Ancient (5++= standard), Priest, Librarian (Rage and Shield), jump lieutenant (with the overwatch blocker jump pack), and the smash Captain Block two is the Terminators, with a foot Captain, Standard, Lieutenant Six Scout Squads and two Scout bike Squads for harassment Smash Captain has the option of going DVoS and rolling up a flank, jump lieutenant can use UWoF to assist if necessary Two Devastators Squads with cherubs for stratagem shenanigans (and the quad launcher nearby). Alternatively, the foot Captain, Lieutenant, Standard can babysit here Two standards for standard shenanigans (see thread I realise the ranged weapon choices are a bit off but I'm attempting to be WYSIWYG as best I can. However, there is some proxying going on meaning I'll likely change this out going forward... The rest of the odd choices are to make the points fit. I'm potentially looking into rolling the two Battalions into a Brigade, just need to work out what to move around and to keep my CPs high. Thoughts?
  6. Exactly what it sounds like. Got an RTT coming up April 6 and wanted to see if I could get any advice. I play tested it against bugs... once (and due to being out of town for work until the RTT, I won't be able to play test again...), and it performed quite well, but I'm open to suggestions. The tournament is mostly WYSIWYG, and my collection does have limits. One of those limits is that my DC are all poorly equipped, and I'm not touching them until the codex drops. I also don't have any chaplains either, so that's a double whammy against DC. I'm considering dropping the Lieutenant for a techmarine, but I'm not sure. I'm also considering changing the assault ints for regular ints, which would bring the list to an even 2000 points. In any case, list is in the spoiler box below!
  7. Got a local RTT coming up in January and this is the list I'm thinking of running. I know the dreadnoughts aren't in Vogue, but I am slightly limited by my collection, they also performed decently in my last few games, and my hobby time is booked solid already preparing for it. It's nothing groundbreaking, but I think this is a decently solid list (aside from possibly the Dreadnaught and furioso), and I'm just wondering if any of you good people agrees. If not, I am open to suggestions! I'm not looking to win the thing, but I am looking to perform better than last tournament. That said, it shouldn't be too hard as I ended up 22nd out of 24th! For what it's worth, here's my total painted asset list (or what will be painted by the time the RTT arrives).
  8. Yo dawg, I heard you liked inferno pistols with your jump packs… Lemartes 10 Death Company Marines with Jump Packs Chaplain with Jump Pack x 3 10 Vanguard Veterans with Jump Packs x 3 Captain with Jump Pack x 3 10 Assault Intercessors with Jump Packs x 3 1990 points Death company marines all have power fists and inferno pistols. Vanguard veterans all have inferno pistols. Chaplains go with the veterans to give them lethal hits and +1 to wound on the charge. Captains go with the intercessors so that 2 squads per turn can use Red Rampage for lethal hits and +1 to wound on the charge. This is the ultimate glass cannon army. But it has the movement to choose when and where to fire off each cannon. If you don’t embrace YOLO without reservation, you might want to give this one a pass.
  9. I've got an RTT I'm going to in the middle of January, and I'll probably only be able to get one practice game in (holidays and all that) so I really want to make it count. That said, I've been looking at the vanguard detachment lately and it really seems like it's got some great stuff. anyway, I was hoping to get some constructive criticism on the following list. in some cases I'm playing with what I've got available. In others, I have some wiggle room. Anyway, here's the list. The main strategy is for the Heavy ints (with captain) to march on the center of the board, accompanied by the furioso for a counter charge threat (or I might put him in reserves and enjoy a 7" charge out of reserves of facing a vehicle heavy list. Gotta love that magna-grapple!). I used a squad of ten HInt's last time and they were fantastic. However, points have made me cut it down to a squad of 5 this time. the VVets (with Sang Priest and captain) and infiltrated Aggressors (with Biologis) take either flank. regular intercessors do actions, make objectives sticky, etc, probably accompanied by the dreadnaughts. eliminators either take an early unguarded objective, or take a good vantage position and do their thing if there's a tasty target anywhere. The Eradicators come out of reserves to make a large target hurt, and the terminators (with terminator librarian) deep strike (probably with Rapid Ingress) to shore up any weak areas. Inceptors do inceptor things. the army-wide stealth will hopefully make a difference, and the ability to return units to reserves at will, will really help the objective game!

  12. Greetings Brothers, I have a Necron Incursion to defeat. Scout reports indicate the Necrons are fielding a large 10-20 troop blob on foot with several re-animation enhancing leaders. There is at least one vehicle destroying unit and scary melee unit. Scarab units in abundance. The Necrons seem to have mainly short to medium ranged firepower. I am looking at running. Phobos Captain Incursor x5 Incursor x5 Assault intercessors with jump packs x5 Eliminator squad las fusil x2 Hellblaster squad x5 Inceptors, assault bolters x3 Invictor Tactical Warsuit, incendium cannon x1 Redemptor Dread x1 I have considered dropping/adding an Incursor squad/Invictor adding Eradicators, a Whirlwind, JP Death Company or even throwing a Vindicator in. Ive a pretty good collection of BA and can run pretty much any models. Probably running Gladius but open to suggestions here. Battle report to follow hopefully

  14. Made a list and was wondering what people thought of it for my escalation league. Also not sure what detachment to run it as. My main intention is to have assault intercessors in StormRaven to get into forward positions and clean up what it targets. Deathcompany go into reserve trying to deepstrike. Librarian Dreadnought moves the intercessors after first turn sticky capturing the home objective to a midfield one. Worried I have too many point in StormRaven but it helps move stuff on the larger board at 1000 points I think. Commants and Questions welcome. 15. Hi Everyone, Happy New Year! I've just purchased some of my friends old Death Company models from him and very excited to start painting to build up a small army for some friendly games against a buddy who has just started his Black Legion. I'm hoping to create a list that I can use for more competitive games in the very near future, up to 1000/1500pts at most. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! ++ Vanguard Detachment -3CP (Imperium - Adeptus Astartes - Blood Angels) [43 PL, -3CP, 748pts] ++ + Configuration + **Chapter Selector**:[/b] Blood Angels Detachment Command Cost [-3CP] Game Type:[/b] Open + HQ + Lemartes [6 PL, 120pts]:[/b] 3. Exhortation of Rage, 4. Mantra of Strength, Litany of Hate Sanguinary Priest [6 PL, 120pts]:[/b] 6. Selfless Valour, Astartes Chainsword, Bolt pistol, Jump Pack, The Armour Indomitus, Warlord + Elites + Death Company Marines [8 PL, 180pts]:[/b] Jump Pack . 5x Death Company Marine w/ thunder hammer: 5x Frag & Krak grenades, 5x Thunder hammer Death Company Marines [15 PL, 168pts]:[/b] Jump Pack . 8x Death Company Marine w/ chainsword and bolt pistol: 8x Astartes Chainsword, 8x Bolt pistol, 8x Frag & Krak grenades Venerable Dreadnought [8 PL, 160pts]: Twin lascannon . Dreadnought combat weapon w/ heavy flamer: Heavy flamer ++ Total: [43 PL, -3CP, 748pts] ++ It feels very light on bodies, but I was hoping to get the DC units across the board and into combat as soon as possible, possibly running the priest with the hammers squad and lemartes with the other? The Dread is there as I really like the model and I feel like the twin Las might help pick off things like his hellbrute or the odd termie if the hammers can’t get the charge on them.
  16. Greetings, all. INTRO: So, I'm planning on attending a tournament in two weeks. I've been toying and playtesting some variations for a while. I've settled on something I really, really like - and something that mitigates some of the weaknesses i was experiencing with previous builds. A lot of my previous builds were based around DFA. It is SUCH an easy secondary to score- especially with Devs, inceptors or attack bikes - never mind charging units. The issue I was running into time and time again was that i needed too much off the board to make it really worthwhile, making my board presence very weak - especially if i went second. Fury of the Lost was next on the list. That led me to this: LIST: DC Bike Captain - Hammer, Visage, Rites Astorath - Mantra/Rage (SoulWarden) 2x5 Infiltrators 1x5 Assault Inters - Hammer (debating MC Hammer) 2x5 DC - 4Hammers, JP 1x5 DC - JP 1x5 DC Inters - Hammer 1x7 SG - 4Axe, 3Sword 2x3 Eliminators - 2Fusil, 1Carbine 2x5 Assault Marines - 2Melta, 1Claw, 1Infernus 2x Impulsors - Ironhail upgrades LIST OVERVIEW: With demons in the meta, Infiltrators are now worth their weight in gold. They're pricier, and less useful for DFA than the Incursors on account of no combat ability, but their blocking really changes things up. The Impulsors may look like an odd choice, but really help with a variety of tactical options. First and foremost, they provide some decent dakka - each putting out 20x S4 shots (12 of which are -1ap) That annoying plink damage adds up fairly. Secondly, they're able to tank MWs well. Drop Armour of Contempt strat and you need around 16 MWs to take it out - protecting sqquishy troops inside Thirdly, the ability to drop ObSec troops on a far away objective makes the combo with shock amazing. Finally, you can also use the universal strat Emergency Disembark after positioning the vehicle in a way that seems unassuming to jump onto distant, or unprotected objectives. All in all, some solid utility. The Eliminators provide some annoying plink damage too, but also give you a 14-19" move onto forward objectives or locations if need be. The assault guys offer some decent close range melta support, along with some melta bombs for the vehicles and can help with actions and objective grabs. Then of course there's the Lost; 5 units of them, allowing for some good drip feed secondary points. If planned well, you can get 5 points just from them dying. I'm gonna get some reps in with this list and see what we can do with it!
  17. In a little over a month I will be playing my first 2000 points game for a number of years, quite possibly the first time I've played at this points level outside of Apocalypse since the 4th edition. As I don't really want to go down the proxy route, alternatives choices and options can be found on my blog. List One This list uses my most recent 1750 list as a basis. I consider this a "light-mech/mech" force. Mephiston Librarian ~ Force Axe ~ Shield and Fear Corbulo Furioso Dreadnought ~ Frag Cannon ~ Melta Gun ~ Magna Grapple ~ Drop Pod Assault Squad (5) ~ Melta Gun ~ Inferno Pistol, Power Sword, Melta Bombs ~ Razorback ~~ Twin-linked Heavy bolter Assault Squad (5) ~ Plasma Pistol ~ Plasma Pistol, Power Axe, Melta Bombs ~ Razorback ~~ Lascannon & Twin-linked Plasma Gun Death Company (8) ~ Power Fist (1) ~ Bolter (1) ~ Bolt Pistol, Power Sword (1) ~ Land Raider Scout Squad (5) ~ Sniper Rifle (4) ~ Heavy Bolter Attack Bike Squadron (1) ~ Multi Melta (1) Attack Bike Squadron (1) ~ Multi Melta (1) Predator Destructor ~ Lascannon Sponsons ~ Dozerblade, Stormbolter Stormraven ~ Twin-linked Multi Melta ~ Twin-linked Assault Cannon ~ Hurricane Bolters Here the plan is fairly simple. The "Fragioso" is the distraction while my force moves up. The Librarian rides with the Melta RAS in the Bolterback providing Shield, while Corbulo rides with the Plasma RAS in the Plaserback. The Predator moves with these along with the Attack Bikes, Mephiston and the Death Company in the Landraider which will undoubtedly be at the forefront. Together these move forward as one to deny space and take the fight to the enemy. The Scouts will arrive in the Stormraven for late objective claiming. List Two This alternative list is very different from what I have done recently and is a bit of a throwback to an older way of playing. It is also somewhat experimental as I will be trying out different tactics. I consider this a Hybrid force. Mephiston Librarian ~ Force Axe ~ Shield and Fear Corbulo Sanguinary Priest Furioso Dreadnought ~ Blood Talons ~ Heavy Flamer ~ Magna Grapple Assault Squad (5) ~ Melta Gun ~ Inferno Pistol, Power Sword, Melta Bombs ~ Razorback ~~ Twin-linked Heavy bolter Assault Squad (5) ~ Plasma Pistol ~ Plasma Pistol, Power Axe, Melta Bombs ~ Razorback ~~ Lascannon & Twin-linked Plasma Gun Tactical Squad (10) ~ Plasma Gun ~ Plasma Cannon Death Company (5) ~ Power Fist (1) ~ Bolter (1) Attack Bike Squadron (1) ~ Multi Melta Attack Bike Squadron (1) ~ Multi Melta Land Speeder Squadron (1) ~ Heavy Bolter ~ Typhoon Missile Launcher Stormraven ~ Twin-linked Multi Melta ~ Twin-linked Assault Cannon ~ Hurricane Bolters Dreadnought ~ Assault Cannon ~ Missile Launcher Devastator Squad (5) ~ Missile Launcher (3) ~ Heavy Bolter (1) This operates in three parts. The Sanguinary Priest, Dreadnought, Tactical Squad and Devastator Squad sit on a home objective. The Stormraven has the Death Company and a Furioso Dreadnought which will arrive and (hopefully) cause havoc later in the game. The Librarian rides with the Melta RAS in the Bolterback providing Shield, while Corbulo rides with the Plasma RAS in the Plaserback. Along with Mephiston, the Attack Bikes and the Land Speeder these rush along a flank to attempt to take apart my opponents piecemeal. Perhaps a Whirlwind instead of the Dreadnought? Thoughts?
  18. Opposition A small sized force that I'm likely to use against a "hybrid" Imperial Guard army. I use "hybrid" in lieu of a suitable term for a bunch of infantry, Sentinels and possible a Leman Russ or two. It is also possible that I may use this list against an Ork, Eldar or even a Marine force and what these opposition forces consist of can be seen in my blog. List Astorath Death Company (6) ~ Jump Packs ~ Power Fist, Bolter ~ Inferno Pistol Lemartes Death Company (6) ~ Jump Packs ~ Power Fist, Bolter Death Company (5) ~ Power Fist, Bolter ~ Power Sword ~ Rhino ~~ Extra Armour Death Company Dreadnought ~ Blood Talons ~ Magna Grapple ~ Drop Pod The plan is fairly simple; the Rhino is there for cover for the advancing jump pack squads, while the Dreadnought is a distraction. Options Been thinking on how I could tweak it. I could: 1) Downgrade Lemartes to a regular Chaplain and bulk out the Rhino squad with more Death Company 2) Drop Lemartes completely and bulk out all squads evenly (would add a Power Sword to the squad he vacated) 3) Drop the Dreadnought and the Rhino for more bodies and have a ten-man foot squad coming out of the Drop Pod 4) Drop Lemartes for two Attack Bikes with Multi Meltas and bulk out the Rhino squad (would add a Power Sword to the squad he vacated) What are you thoughts on this?
  19. Opposition As part of an ongoing series, here is my 1500 "All Comer List" and it is based on a list I took against Eldar in the fifth edition. For my next battle it is likely to be used against an Eldar or Marine force and what these opposition forces consist of can be seen in my blog. The List Librarian ~ Shield and Rage Sanguinary Priest ~ Power Sword Assault Squad (8) ~ Melta Gun ~ Plasma Pistol, Power Axe, Melta Bomb ~ Rhino ~~ Extra Armour Tactical Squad (10) ~ Plasma Gun ~ Missile Launcher ~ Bolt Pistol, Chainsword, Melta Bomb ~ Rhino ~~ Extra Armour Lemartes Death Company (5) ~ Jump Pack ~ Bolter, Power Fist (1) Scout Squad (5) ~ Heavy Bolter ~ Sniper Rifle (4) ~ Camo Cloak Attack Bike Squadron (2) ~ Multi Melta (2) Predator Destructor ~ Lascannon Sponsons ~ Search Light "Fragioso" Dreadnought ~ Frag Cannon ~ Melta Gun ~ Magna Grapple ~ Drop Pod Options As you can see I have my "rock" assault unit that is screened by the three tanks and the bikes. I have an objective sitter, a distraction and no anti air (but I wont need that for this fight). However I can't help but wonder how I can further tweak this. 1) Do I have enough scoring troops at this level and do I have too many eggs in one basket seeing as I have a singular moving force? 2) I'm using Jump Packs on the Death Company to a) have Lemartes and b ) allow for quicker charging, but would it be better to drop the Jump Packs and Lemartes, add either a Chaplain or another DC with a Power Sword and put them in the available Razorback, allowing more points to be spent elsewhere? 3) What should I do if I face a lot of terminators? 4) Should I look into divination for the Librarian? Looking forward to your thoughts
  20. Believe it or not, this is actually a project I've wanted to do for ages. Whilst I realise the limitations to a list such as this, I feel that it is capable in many other ways from a conventional Marine list and remarkably fluffy. 1000 points, Baal Strike Force Captain ~ Artificier Armour ~ Combi-melta, relic blade, melta bombs, auspex ~ Storm shield or Veritas Vitae ~ Warlord Command Squad ~ Meltagun (3) ~ Drop Pod Scout Squad (10) ~ Sniper rifle (8) ~ Heavy bolter with hellfire shells ~ Boltgun, melta bombs Scout Squad (10) ~ Bolt pistol, close combat weapon (7) ~ Shotgun (2) ~ Veteran Sergeant, melta bombs, bolt pistol, chainsword Scout Squad (10) ~ Bolt pistol, close combat weapon (7) ~ Shotgun (2) ~ Veteran Sergeant, melta bombs, bolt pistol, chainsword Scout Squad (10) ~ Boltgun (9) ~ Boltgun, melta bombs Scout Bike Squadron (3) ~ Astartes grenade launcher (2) ~ Combi-grav, melta bombs Tarantula Sentry Gun Battery (2) ~ Twin-linked lascannon, camo netting (1) ~ Multi-melta, searchlight, camo netting (1) Options Captain will arrive with the Command Squad as this is the best way to keep up with the Scouts. Torn between a storm shield (with this being my only real "beat" squad, I'll probably need to tank stuff) and the Veritas Vitae for that tactical advantage (thinking here to Infiltrate the Tarantulas, possibility of getting Night fight, Stealth in Ruins across the board, and/or other such stuff). Bikes will either Outflank or Scout to make use of the combi-grav. Not sure what best synergises with the grenade launcher though... I've also opted for a BSF to make use of the two (possibly four) combat Scout Squads. Whilst I could use a CAD with potentially eight Objective Secured Squads, I don't feel that they have the durability to pull it off, even if the stars align and I get Stealth everywhere. One interesting twist is that I could trim the "shooty units" from above and use it in conjunction with the 10th Company Task Force from Codex: Space Marines. This could represent the "Elite Scouts" of the BA army and I could even use Telion to represent Captain Borgio of our 10th Company. Thoughts?
  21. I've got a game next Tuesday, and im thinking of running this list. I'm planning on running the BGV (with lieutenant) and AI's in one of the land raiders (dropping off units as needed), and the terminators in the other. The Jump Captaij and Jump SP are both likely to go with the VVets. Eradicators and the furioso would be in strategic reserves (to hopefully take advantage of that sweet 7" charge), and the inceptors are in deep strike. I'm thinking of putting the JAI in deep strike too, as action monkeys that can actually punch something if need be. I'm not opposed to mixing up the party bus arrangements, but i do not have access to a redeemer. I'm limited by my collection and by how much hobby time I get, but I'm open to suggestions.
  22. Hey Guys, I am having a 1000 point game tonight vs T'au and I have thrown this Son's of Sanguinius list together. Please let me know your thoughts, I'm unlikely to change it t this late hour before the game but thigs to be aware of would be appreciated! 24. Here I am again playing with numbers and hypothetical lists. I am assuming the new Assault Intercessors with Jump-Packs (AIwJP) are going to cost 230 just like the Assault squad is now. In fact the AIwJP will probably have fewer options than the Assault squad, could they be cheaper? Check this out. This Sons of Sanguinius list invests in Primaris melee units and durability. I have almost all the models, so let's see what I can present. SoS - 1830 points 120 Dante 230 Assault Intercessors JP (10) (estimated) 90 Sanguinary Priest JP 80 Primaris Captain, sword & shield 180 Bladeguard Vets (6) 50 Bladeguard Ancient 240 Land Raider 75 Primaris Lieutenant 160 Assault Intercessors (10) 80 Sanguinary Priest 260 Land Raider Redeemer 115 Inceptors (3) 150 Whirlwind 170 points remain. Ideally I would put a 6-man Eradicator squad, kept in strategic reserve. But the cost 190. The option would be to change the LR Redeemer for another Lascannon-armed LR (aka Phobos). And of course wait and see the final cost of the new AIwJP. Your thoughts?
  25. Here I am again designing silly friendly lists... Until the Astartes codex arrives in Autumn I don't have a very clear idea of what works and what doesn't, so I'm asking you battle-brothers for inspiration. I don't play competitive hence I have the luxury of playing pure Primaris lists too (because I like the Primaris' models' proportions...) Based on models I already own I made three variations of an armoured assault list. I 'd love to hear your thoughts! 2000 points - One Raider is a target, two is a trouble... but for me too 80 Primaris Captain, MC power sword & shield 200 Bladeguard Vets (6) 50 Bladeguard Ancient 275 Land Raider, Lascannons 65 Primaris Chaplain 180 Death Company Intercessors (10), 1 power fist, 9 chainswords 255 Land Raider Crusader 65 Primaris Techmarine 205 Terminator squad (5) 225 Redemptor Dreadnought, Macro-plasma incinerator 220 Brutalis Dreadnought, weapons??? 90 Infiltrators (5) 90 Incursors (5) Simple plan, saturate the battlefield with heavy armour to avoid focus fire. Two Raiders and two Dreadnoughts advance forward, the Infiltrators hold home objective, the Incursors improve the hit rolls of other units, the Terminators probably stay in reserve and the Techmarine is there because nothing else fitted with the remaining points. The assault ramps of the Raiders are a huge bonus, the Bladeguard group slaughters anything with Red Rampage, etc. The problem is the small number of units at the beginning of the battle and the difficult charge from deep striking Terminators. 2000 points - Terminator chances improved 80 Primaris Captain, MC power sword & shield, Artisan of War 200 Bladeguard Vets (6) 50 Bladeguard Ancient 275 Land Raider, Lascannons 65 Primaris Chaplain, Icon of the Angel 180 Death Company Intercessors (10), 1 power fist, 9 chainswords 195 Repulsor 95 Terminator Captain, weapons??? 205 Terminator squad (5) 225 Redemptor Dreadnought, Macro-plasma incinerator 220 Brutalis Dreadnought, weapons??? 90 Infiltrators (5) 90 Incursors (5) So, now without an assault ramp the DC will have to work more to find the right moment to charge, there is no Techmarine to babysit the vehicles, but the Terminators became a lot more deadly as a Captain is leading them. The few remaining points went to two enhancements. 1995 points - More terrifying walkers! 80 Primaris Captain, MC power sword & shield 200 Bladeguard Vets (6) 50 Bladeguard Ancient 275 Land Raider, Lascannons 65 Primaris Chaplain 180 Death Company Intercessors (10), 1 power fist, 9 chainswords 95 Terminator Captain, weapons??? 205 Terminator squad (5) 225 Redemptor Dreadnought, Macro-plasma incinerator 220 Brutalis Dreadnought, weapons??? 220 Brutalis Dreadnought, weapons??? 90 Infiltrators (5) 90 Incursors (5) A Repulsor's armour is not like the Raider's, the DC have to run instead. But (by removing the enhancements too) now I can field an additional Brutalis Dreadnought, nod bad, right?
