Hey guys, interested in how people are reading the rules for Cypher and the Fallen. Was really looking forward to them getting a small boost in 8th edition & building an army around them that could double as DA Horus heresy models. Looks like they're virtually unplayable though, unless i'm reading something wrong or thinking about it in the wrong way. Fallen datasheet does not have the Heretic Astartes keyword - which means they cannot board any of the CSM transports. Nor is the Imperium keyword sufficient to allow them to board imperial transports, as they have no special rule allowing that (ie like Inquisition). Finally, they lost the infiltrate special rule they received with the 7th edition formation. So basically there's no way to get them up the field. With only one heavy weapon they're not so exciting as a backfield option. Cypher's datasheet has the same problem. I don't see anyone fielding these in matched play due to the transport handicap. To put it more strongly, the units are even more a load of trash than they were in 7th edition, even with the points decrease. Am I missing something? Thoughts? ....all that's not to mention they have the same unexciting Chosen loadout they had in 7th. The re-roll & morale buffs are nice, if not extremely characterful.

After a quick search I couldn’t find much on this topic. Excuse me if I missed it, please. After my experience with 8th edition thus far I’ve realized a brigade is my best option in order to maximize my CPs for feeding the DC and characters I use. The current models I own limit my choices for this though. I’m looking for your opinions on our current Fast Attack options. I’ll start by saying I’m leaning towards Inceptors more than anything, now that they are affordable. What are you guys using these days, and what are your thoughts?

Hail Brothers of Fenris! I'm entirely new to the idea of list building, but have been a long time lore enthusiast, and shorter term painter all things considered. I've been shifting back and forth between what I've wanted to paint my primaris force as for a long time now. I've painted and tested many models, most recent of which were some lovely Doom Eagles, but with all the fuss regarding the new Psychic Awakening I've been reminded of the reason I got into 40k in the first place: the Space Wolves. The first 40k book I read was Spacewolf by William King, and instantly fell in love with the setting (and Ragnar, in no small manner). So, with that boring lore out of the way, I would like to ask you Wolves of Fenris how you would recommend I build my army going forward. I'm a huge fan of the primaris range, and have a lot of the models unbuilt and unpainted, so I would like to primarily keep it within the range, but anything other than the original marines would be fine by me (Wolfen, Older Dreads because Bjorn is the best, thunderwolf cavalry in a small dose). I also don't want the spotlight here, and would love to hear how the rest of you have built your armies, and the stories you've forged over the years! Model List: 2x Gravis Captains 1x Primaris Captain 2x Primaris Lieutenants (One is Haldor) 1x Primaris Librarian 1x Primaris Ancient 30x Intercessers 3x Aggressors 5x Hellblasters 3x Inceptors 1x Scout Squad 1x Redemptor Dreadnought 1x Repulsor
