I'm a patron of one of Polish miniature painters - Samuel Skiba-Wojnach - and part of a painting group for a bout a year now. As such, it happens that we paint a miniature together that comes from different setting then WH40k. However I like to incorporate them whenever possible into my 40k collection, because it's both fun and an opportunity to work on my skills outside the comfort zone of Blood Angels' red. And black.... and white.... and gold..... and blue... Anyway a mini I painted in February as part of such an exercise was a Hot&Dangerous Azumi samurai lady which seemed to me as a nice candidate for a Death Cult Assassin. Scale is about right for an un-altered mortal compared to Primaris marines and they are only armed with 'power blades'. Old sculpts of those and current rules show that it doesn't matter if there are 2, 3, 4 or only one such blade on a mini for them to work. However I noticed they now come in units of at least 2, so while I put a painted Azumi on the shelf, I had in mind n idea of finding something to match her and eventually form a unit. And exactly that happened when browsing some RPG-shop page I found a new Infinity Shinobu Kitsune figure with a BIIIIG sword. Those come from Yu-Jung faction and are strongly Japanese-themed. That particular figure was also a lady with long hair and so she immediately struck me as a great match. And this is what came out: A welcome challenge she was being really tiny compared to GW sculpts with detail crisp but minute in places. I can only encourage you to break away from your hobby comfort zones and explore what's beyond from time to time And here are both 'sisters' together: I like that they are different both in build and wargear. Thanks to this they get much more character when set together. Color scheme evolved a bit as you see, but I'm totally undisturbed by that. After all it's just a hobby butterfly. Cheers!
