Hi Folks, Even I've started my test model on a Raider, I slowly but surely switched to the Ravager before completion of the former. My vehicle hunter has therefore arrived to port COmpletion earlier than the troop carrier. This kit has been complicated to assemble once came the moment of the sponsons. By prepainting I affected most of thicknesses for stems and grooves because of too thick layers. Some assemblies required therefore removing paint and or cutting a little bit. Even like that at least one of the Dark Lance is not optimum with gunner's hand showing a puzzeling angle with the gun and, in general, both lateral guns set in force. The scheme I previously used for my footslogger kabalites prooved to be a welcomed hue for the ravager, bringing touches of colour that catch eye and break the monolitic dark green. Bones part also give a contrasting element on the beam and interlocking system. I finally think I should have kept it for the spike rails instead of going metallic. But what is done is done. I miwxd heads from various spares lefts from sprues from the Kabalites and Incubis. Giving a little bit of variety; but my main purpose was to get more heads to mix and match with some Corsairs I plan to kit bash from a bunch of left guardians bodies I still have in my bitz box for a decade or so. Tha's all for the moment. I still have all the crew hanging around in the Raider to be painted. See you soon.

Hi folks, Work has progressed these days. Both hulls and sails are now done for the Raider and the Ravager. The raider is closing to completion, with all main parts done, except the crew. The sailors operating this assault barge are about 50% done, with all base colours applied; detailing will take more time, especially the weapons as I tried new tricks, a.k.a. not painting their tools of death in a single colour... It is a process. So it requires time. The ravager has progressed too, with the next focus on the sponsons and dark lances. As this ship will go full dark lances. I did not use so much parts from the specific Ravager's sprue. I favoured instead using at max what was left from the Raider. I hate being left with spare bits on multiple half used sprue if I can terminate one instead. A small close up of the sail and the beam that will be used to interlock the sponsons... Bone is done with wraithbone, washed with Skeleton Horde and then dry washed with Wraithbone and Pallid Wych Flesh. It is a little bit dirty as my paint pots are rather dry and developp too much thickness or even grains. I should dillute them a little bit or renew the stock... Same goes with the white for the saill So, in the end nothing too extravagant so far. See you in part III when the crew will have progressed a little bit more. I plan to use them all and load the Raider as per the coverbox: with the 3 Kabalites hanging around. See you soon.

Hi Folks, It has been a while since I touched to my Dark kins. My initial motivation was guided by the reinforcement of my (old, very old) Aeldarii army. My plan was to go Ynnarii and add a tactical depth brought by the deep striking Dark Eldars plus some signature units such as Scourges and Mandrakes. The plan was blown away by the Release of the Aeldarii codex. Which left me with some minis unbuilt and waiting in the pile of shame. I decided it was time to resolve this issue and complete at least the painting. once the force will be completed with what I have I will take a decision between completing it to a decent size for gaming or selling what exceed the absorbtion capacity of the Ynnarii. Seen my current pace, it is likely that the Drukhari Codex will be out before I take any decision and, maybe, Corsairs faction if added at the same time, will lead me to reconsider the whole flushing. In the mean time, let's go painting. I did my Kabalite in a Arkhelian green scheme. but for the vehicles, it is not a colour I find appealing. too much tone on tone. So I decided to go Incubi Darkness, which is a colour I like. After asking about best colour for panel lining (Question about colour choice to highligth incube darkness - + GENERAL PCA QUESTIONS + - The Bolter and Chainsword vs. But in fact the difference is bigger. which makes it rather OK and not so far away I think vs. the Citadel Colour App guidelines. So, how does it go so far? I set the hull bottom in bone colour, in order to remind the wraithbone underneath structure of my other Asuryani's vehicles The panels in Incubi darkness lined with SoH green end up quite well. Panel lining in not my preferred technique and combination of hands shaking and poor brush quality requires quite a patience and a lot of corrective painting for thinker lines. With this raider's hull test model, I end up being quite satisfied. I guess next step is to compelte the job and see how extra details may break the monolithic colour impact of this dark green. See you in a next episode with more progress. bouargh PS: I am adding the chart I found back. It is a little bit old but it looks like it is not that different from what's in the App...

Switching to the vehicles of the three combat patrols I have. I’ll need to compress these images but I wanted to put something in my moribund blog. There's a lot of work here. TBH, I'm not feeling this work, but I aim to finish this one venom / 'weaver if nothing else.
