Okay so I just got a tip that I tried out on how to create that perfect, Fisty, golden yellow. For a long time that beautiful golden yellow eluded me (we all remember how hard Yellow used to be to paint). Well...I think I just fixed my problem. Recipe: (75/25 mix) Cassandora Yellow and water (2 washes), white highlight (heavy), Lamenter's yellow glaze. Give me your thoughts!

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good smooth spray paint base or primer I can use to paint yellow over? I've tried Army Painter Daemonic Yellow - maybe I didn't shake it enough (2-3 minutes) but it was a bit clumpy. I'm open to ideas, and thanks in advance!

Hey mates. Have gotten started working on my SOT Imperial Fist SM's at the moment and so far have about 3x Tac Squads, Sgt. Garadon, and 3x Drop Pods at the moment. And while I am at it, I have things set up for my first trial run at testing the Army Builder Demonic Yellow Primer on a few "Test Models". When it comes to this Yellow Spray, would it be better to do an undercoat of White Primer first or could I just prime it Yellow and not worry about the rest?

To any IF players out there I have been painting a small force of Imperial Fists using the following methods for the yellow with the old GW paints: Primer black First layer the Yellow foundation paint (Iyridian yellow or something like that, cant remember the exact name) Hit the gryphone sepia wash in the crevices then light coat of Golden Yellow to give it the proper Yellow color I desire. This worked well for a basic table top color scheme I dont get to paint very much and my out put is slow I have a decent stock of old paint left and have not even looked at GW's new paint range What would you guys who are more in the know suggest for me to purchase (from the new paint range) when my stocks run out and I am forced to paint with the new paints, to obtain a similar result from my above paint scheme? Looking to keep it simple.

Here's a nice guide to doing Imperial Fists with an airbrush and washes, from Matt Kane, ex-Forge World: http://m-k-painting-studio.blogspot.co.uk/2015/02/imperial-fists-armour.html?m=1

Seeing that the beloved Casandora Yellow is about to go the way of the dodo, I've come up with a simple yet easy (I know ;) ) method for a good, nice saturated "taxi Marine" yellow. 1. Prime whatever color you want. Black works well for a preshade, but white or grey is just as well. 2. Basecoat with two layers of Averland Sunset. One might be enough on white. 3. Layer in with Vallejo Game Color 72.007 Gold Yellow (Amarillo Dorado). 4. Profit (and wash, weather, detail, whatever you feel like, mate). Picture with zero retouch, good white balance and light. Yes, it IS this saturated. Averland is fairly flat, but the VGC 007 is the James Bond of this movie. http://i.imgur.com/4oAPboM.jpg
