Mmmm... Seems this is the down season

Well I have to add a request, Scally if you dont want to do it just gimmie a holler and its cool. I hope you havent been lost in the warp, as someone said before.

My request is based on my IA article here: Corsairs Serpentis

My I cant quite decide on my colours. I want something that enforces their ambush specialsists. As they are a space bourne force repainting their armour over and over would not be an easy thing, such as the use of camoflage. However a pattern painted directly onto the armour would be perfect, as it would also break up the hard lines presented by something like an eight foot tall armoured giant.

A deep dark green with either bronze or burnished gold serpents, or serpent representations would be good. And the Heraldry could be a snake round a sword or a skull.

I hope im not asking too much here scally :D! As I said if you dont want to/cant do it, no big deal. As much as I want the pic for my IA article I dont want to put undue strain on you as you are probably already working on some of the requests that were put up before mine.

Anyway its still great work! I still think you should bring someone in to help you though :P.

Thanks for your time.

Scally, could you design something, a colour scheme based on these colours:

Yellow-Main colour

Dark Blue-Secondary

Chapter Symbol- Omega

This would be a great help, as I am lousy at designning chapters, I never get enthuisiastic enough to paint them, so If someone designs a cool one, I will paint it,

Thanks muchly

Note that this is how he would appear if you were standing right in front of him looking at him (its hard to explain but if you were him your left arm would be blue, left leg would be white and so on)

Chest eagle : Yellow

Eye lenses : green

Chapter badge : an upside down V (white)

Squad marking : tactical (ultra blue)

Bolter : Black with metal bits (the usual)

I appreciate your requests for a picture Pulse, but please go steady. :tu:

There is a list here in the thread already, and it would be unfair of me to skip ahead and complete your work first.

The original aim of this thread was to share people’s DIY Chapter designs. If you would like a picture please join the community and give us an insight into your ideas.

Unless you would like a commission I’m afraid you will just have to wait. Sorry pal. ;)

Just a thought here for those of you adding to the list of "work" for Scaly.

I suggest this entirely without having spoken to Scaly so if doesn't work for him then so be it.

You could probably save him some time and help yourselves out in the same go by first doing up your color scheme on the B&C Marine Painters. Do as much as you can on that, use the blank background and then save the image results. Then send that image to Scaly to add your Chapter logo or other p-shop gubbinz that may need to go on (flames and the like).

Chapter Origins (undecided) chapter review

=Fleet Composition=

Battlebarge “Emperor’s Sting”

Strike Cruiser “Great Claw”

Strike Cruiser “Ocularis Scorpi”

Strike Cruiser “Terribilus Pinceri”

Fourteen Hunter Class Destroyers

=Hierarchy=

Though the Resplendant Scorpions are martial in their ways, their command structure, at least at the top, is very much republican in nature, and their ranking system covers not just the marines, but the serfs and naval crew as well. As the chapter is based from its ships, it need not worry about conferring with a far off homeworld, and as the entire fleet travels together, they need not worry about having essential resources tied up several sectors away. At the top, the Resplendant Scorpions are guided by several figures: the Master of the Fleet, who hails from the ranks of the chapter’s techmarines and serves as logistical advisor to the ground forces; the Staff Commander, a co-authority in naval matters and second ranking in the chapter serfs’ storm trooper legion; the Chapter Master, head authority of all resources under command of the chapter, he has the final word on all decisions the chapter makes and is entrusted with the responsibility such a position demands; finally all battle-company commanders and ship captains participate in the decision-making process of the chapter, giving the leadership a wide spectrum of views and a vast pool of experience to draw from as the chapter forges on in its infant days.

The Scorpions have secretive ties to several Inquisitors within all three of the major Ordos as well as without, and can count on several independent lines of information as well as various avenues of specialist support and equipment. The chapter focuses methodically on what it deems the most pertinent threat to the Imperium and moves to eliminate it completely before moving on to the next task. Though it is rare for them to do so; the Scorpions have pulled out of a conflict if one of their other concerns requires immediate intervention, even more rarely have the Resplendant Scorpions split their forces; undecided on which course to pursue above the other.

=Force Composition & Combat Doctrine=

The Resplendant Scorpions are not organized according to Codex Astartes standards, lacking companies, they form units based on the needs of their next mission; the resources of the entire chapter are seen as fluid. The only permanence of organization in the chapter is at the squad level, where the brother marines form close-knit bonds with each other so that they may perform more effectively in battle and hardship.

The Resplendant Scorpions are an extremely young chapter, with most leadership at Captain level or lower and a majority of units only initiates. Most marines use the tricks of their days as scouts, most having been recently promoted from duty as a scout. Frequently a large portion of a Resplendant Scorpion battle company with deploy ahead of their lines, leaving only a token force behind to serve as reinforcements and backup to the forward squads.

When engaging the enemy, the Resplendant Scorpions will use large numbers of snipers to pin down a vulnerable unit while assault and tactical squads clear away the confused and disoriented survivors, relying mostly on squad missile launchers to take care of enemy armor. Predators are the most common armor seen utilized by the Resplendant Scorpions in support of the tactical and scout squads. The second most common are Whirlwinds armed with Castellan Missiles used to lay down impromptu minefields and funnel the enemy where the Scorpions want them.

The few veteran marines the chapter has are spread throughout the squads, though the few times the veterans have been used it has almost always been mounted up in their handful of terminator suits to deal with unique objectives. Most of the veteran scorpions led the scouts, teaching them the ways of war.

Symbol is a bright green (like the eyes) scorpion claw with a sting arching over the claw on its tail, the carapace plates are outlined in gold

the GW colors I plan on using are dark angels green for the plates, burnished gold from the trim, and (?goblin green?) for the eyes and symbol

The standard bearers use bagpipes instead of banners

The Veterans, sargents, ICs etc..wear kilts and sporrans (feel free with the tartan pattern)

The armour is white, the helmets are split white blue the blue represents warpaint, the shoulder Pads are Golden Yellow with Red Trim, the regular troops have the tartan pattern on the left knee pad

1) A picture or detailed description of your chapter symbol.

http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g27/Kyng_2006/ScotlandBanner2.gif

2) Background information about your chapter including,

Chapter Origins: One of the Dark Foundings not sure whch one though

Information about there base of operations: Their homeworld was surrounded by warpstorms shortly after they arrived and they have only recently subsided, the world was very clan based almost deathworld status. Before the world was chosen by The Chapter to be thier new home world there was an individual that united many of the clans to fight Chaos forces plagueing the world with but simple weapons the Chaos forces were toppled.

Combat Doctrine: Very Close Combat (Trait Advantages: No Mercy, No Respite/ake The Fight To Them The Major Drawback is Flesh Over Steel)

Organisation: Thier assault squads are all on foot

Beliefs:

Gene-Seed: It is assumed their Gene-Seed is from the Space Wolves due to the feral aspect that they approach combat but this is obviously not the case.

Chapter Motto: More of a clashing of weapons and raised voices yelling than a battle cry or Motto though many do yell one word before chargeing into battle "FREEDOM"

cool.

Can you make me one? if you cant its ok but if you can heres the scheme.

Red trim on shoulder pads

abdomen tubing is silver

dark red lower legs

black primary color

silver eagles

vets have silver stripe on helmets

sarges have red stripe on helmet and a red cross on kneecap

kneecaps are black

also can you trick them out a bit on the drawing bit?

once again i'm not forcing you to do it just you know asking. i wont be too down if you refuse

have fun

Hiya Scally, I was hoping to add my chapter to the queue.

Here's IA: Black Watch (third post down). For my minis, I use MkIV powered armor. The pic in my IA shows the basic color scheme (sans helmet stripe). Sergeants have the eagle on the chest (white) and forehead (red eagle on white helmet). Vet Sergeants are often equipped with power fists and bolters, while Marines carry bolters and chainswords.

Here's an image of the badge I'm using.

Thanks for looking. :)
