Starks333
in my opinion you do wonderful conversions, unique and very creative...but your paint jobs just dont do them justice what so ever theres so much more you could do to make them stand out that little bit more with colours and character adding paint jobs Starks Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/104680-my-lords-land-raider/#findComment-1200143 Share on other sites

Chaptermaster Graymantle
Whoa; Amazing conversion! I truly, absolutely love your relief idea  And also the dozer blades... the_Armyman
Some really creative ideas and pretty darn good execution, BobPanda! The sculpted relief and dozer blades are extremely well done. I was also impressed with your Hurricane bolter sponsons. Do you have any pre-assembly pics of the sponsons, or failing that, a decent explanation as to how you went about converting them? Do you have any pre-assembly pics of the sponsons, or failing that, a decent explanation as to how you went about converting them? well .... most of you might know, that hurricans, mounted in traditional way, do not fir pretty well and because of that, are not staying in position pretty good. => if you'll simply take a q-tip, cut a 3mm tube out of it, open it on one side and strip it over the metall pin, it fits much better in the mounting-whole drilled in the plastik-mounts. the bolters got replaces by a pair of three on each side, coming from the vehicle-acc-sprue. you do not need to do much with them, but glueing them together and afterwards glueing them to the original mounting, where normaly the metal-hurricanes are mounted at. Dark Sensei
Oh my, these side sculptures are a very pleasant and ingenious improve for your Raider. It undoubtfully brings a lot to it. Besides, your weapon systems are very well built and far more impressive than the original ones. Therefore, I must say that though the chain system for the dozer bears a very rustic-wolfy feeling, it seems a bit too much rustic for the educated machine spirit of that noble vehicle. Hmmm just an idea like that, you have most certainly already though about it but well... I see you are using a special front door (most probably a Forgeworld one). Considering you have ni side doors, you could convert the ones you've got in armor platings protecting the hurricane sponsons. Might need some re-shaping but I'm sure its not that much to you. Well, just an idea like that... Very nice anyway ! Please keep coming. BloodDrinker
Oh H311 yes thats Fuc%in@ awesome. Im exactly the opposite as you my friend. I like to paint and cannot stand to work to long on conversions and cleaning. There are some VERY simple things you can do to that to make the paint very much better though. Otherwise very nice. Chaptermaster Graymantle
Hm... I have to wonder about the side doors though... Do you just assume they are there, modelled into the relief? BobPanda
Hm...I have to wonder about the side doors though... Do you just assume they are there, modelled into the relief? hmm .... i do not pretend on playing each rule exactly as it was ment to. in my case this would mean, that i cannot use the side-doors, because they are simply not there, allthough i'll have to pay the points as if they would. another good example are my wolve-riders .... i'll play them as bikes and pay the points for it, allthough, most of them do only have ordinary bolters instead of twinlinked ones. - for those of you, which are asking for a tuturial ... of course, i'll look for the pictures i took, during it's creation ... for sure, i'll find some pics, which propably show some interesting worksteps ... Mxylplik
Question, Had you tried the mural technique before? If that was your first attempt then it was nothing short of miraculous. If you had tried it before and knew how it was going to turn out once painted it then brings it down to the level of merely incredible. *Doffs Hat* -Colin Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/104680-my-lords-land-raider/#findComment-1200362 Share on other sites

Master Toddius
Man, just give ME the model and i'll paint it up for you if you don't have time... That LandRaider is awesome. The PJ HAS to match. Its like having a super model and dressing her in rags. Not everyone will have Picaso talent when it comes to painting, but at least have the patience to try and practice at it. You're letting yourself down. And i mean that in the nicest way. AWESOME idea and and execution in the conversion. Very impressive and original. Never seen this before. Been playing for year and years. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/104680-my-lords-land-raider/#findComment-1200576 Share on other sites

Mxylplik
Wow, If I that fit my army at all I would have to try it. I really din't see where you were going with the models stuck to the side until it was painted.
