I picked up an Ironclad the other day with the intent of (obviously) putting him in DC colors. Decided to take him a step further and bring back our old friend, Moriar the Chosen. Chosen for what? Well an overhaul, that's what. He's still super-pissed at everything.

Ex- DC Rhino, now i'll use it for tacticals since the last games with a Rhino DC always ended up in a massacre for my DC i decided to give them jump packs again.

Nice paint scheme! Are these blood angels or a successor chapter? I really like the black stripe on the Baal and the Land Raider.. Adds a lot imho. Also, is the picture dark or do you use a darker red? It almost looks like Angels Vermillion...

Hm i've been painting miniatures and collecting Blood Angels for around 3 months now ... yeah i know it sounds a bit weird but i don't know.

Maybe it's because i'm a digital artist for more than 10 years now.

I'm not entirely positive that this would be the proper place to post this, but I recently finished one of two Imperial Bastions for Planetstrike in BA colors. The original pics are gargantuan, but I've done my best to shrink one down to fit here. I'd also be more than happy to move this to a better place if necessary.

At any rate, this thing took dang forever to paint, so I'm not exactly in a huge hurry to paint the second one, and the... lessee.... 9.3 feet of defense lines...

I haven't added iconography yet, because the walls are textured like concrete so decals wont stick properly, and I'm not confident enough to paint 4 identical BA symbols. I'll probably eventually do them all with greenstuff when I get the second bastion painted.

Here is my Flesh Tearers counts-as Corbulo (does anyone know the Flesh Tearers high sanguinary priest's name?) The conversion involved me buying Corbulo just to cut his arm off and steal his backpack. I found the white was quite difficult to paint, and the cup is both overflowing and dripping with precious blood. Please excuse the poor pics, (the camera loves taking grainy images).

The focus of these first four pictures is on the last two members of my tactical squad that I painted. I felt that with every unit I painted I got better and better and so I wanted them to be the focus of my pictures. I think I went REALLY overboard trying to make the glow effect under the eyes, but hey, chalk it up to experimentation.

This sergeant was the very first mini I ever painted. I had no idea what I was doing at all. The face was all trial and alot of error. I went back and redid the chainsword when I had finally acquired some skill and knowledge and felt it turned out really well and symmetrical. It's hard to see in the picture but my blood splatter also turned out pretty nice. Also, I sawed of the left hand and places a pistol on facing out mob-style.

2nd Company, 1st Squad in their entirety. I wish I could have gone the extra mile and placed squad markings on the knees but at this point in time I think I would have only done them harm. Also, these are Black Reach marines, so some of them don't even have knees that lend themselves very easily to have squad markings painted on them.

 

There they are. I know they aren't amazing but I just wanted to share them and receive any feedback people have to offer.

I stripped all of my painted Blood Angels this week. They were painted using Red Ink and I wasn't satisfied with their finish - too glossy and too splotchy. They'll be repainted using the new Citadel Washes.

I kept five of them for memory's sake, and here they are for your comments. The last of their kind. :D

I should have finished samples of my new technique within a month or so.

Here's what I've got to show. The Chaplain is the first model I painted for my BA's so the thigh plates don't look as good as the new ones, and it doesn't have any damage either, but I still really like him.

Funny story about these pictures... I was painting this originally for a contest. I wanted to put Forge World Blood Angel shoulder pads on him. I waited for almost a month and they did not come. So I had to paint the last bit of it very quickly and last minute. I had two hours to finish the storm bolter arm and as I was rushing through it my AC fell out of its window just as my city was experiencing its first snow storm of the "winter". Somehow on top of fixing that in between I got the pictures taken and sent off with about 20 seconds before the deadline. Regardless, this is my Terminator Captain and the 12th model? I have ever painted.

 

Pictures could have been better but oh well. Possibly will put up new ones some other time. I am not happy with how the finished result ended up. In the pictures you can't really see the fade on the armor that I am proud of. I also did not get to put blood splatter on the chainfist and I also hoped to have more time and do a freehand banner.
