Blindhamster Posted September 30, 2007 Share Posted September 30, 2007 Hey guys, while this is part of my larger thread i figured id post it seperately in the hopes people will take a look. My basic mission here is to create a new slightly more dynamic version of dante while still keeping to the spirit of the original miniature.. heres a really rough sketch i did for general idea of pose: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v235/blindhamster/bloodangelscompany/dante.jpg basically hes meant to be just about to land preparing to swing the axe mortalis at some random bad guy. The army i think will be posed slightly higher on his body when done to show this.. and heres the current progress on him http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v235/blindhamster/bloodangelscompany/dante5.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v235/blindhamster/bloodangelscompany/dante6.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v235/blindhamster/bloodangelscompany/dante4.jpg as you can probably see hes still really rough... the only other plastic bits i'll be using are the devastator rocket launcher arm (with dante-like gauntlet sculpted on it) the axe from the space wolves sprue with the wings from banner pole to simulate the axe mortalis and the metal shoulder pad from the Baal preditor box. I still need to sculpt bottom of right foot, finish both legs, add purity seals to shoulder pad, legs. add some blood drops and skulls. and also wings (on ancles and on the chest) Im not sure what to do about the head though, part of me wants to model him WITHOUT the deathmask actually on... maybe on his waist? once hes done i'll also be working on making Mephy and the masters of the chapter... hope you guys like :ph34r: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I particularly like the greaves; they're about the best thing on the regular model and you've modeled them expertly. The axe 'n pistol are cool also. BUT I HAVE TWO VERY IMPORTANT QUESTIONS! Escaflowne_Z Posted October 7, 2007 Share Posted October 7, 2007 The Axe Mortalis looks good ANY color. :D I really like your green power blade on that sergeant, but I used plain old metallics for my Dante model. Funny, as all of my other power weapons are blue...the green would be very eye-catching though...oh, do whatever you want! :tu: I would leave out the blood on Dante. Every piece of fluff I've ever read has Dante being a very controlled individual who hates the Red Thirst. Is it just me or does the Melta part of the pistol conversion seem slightly out of line with the rest of the Pistol? It could just be the pic. I've always been a firm believer in MC weapons having different lighting from the rank and file, be it the PP core or the blade of Mortalis. I love what you're doing with dante.
