Terror wing

The lightning streaks, and terror markings, just look so awesome Nihm. Keep it up, you have about another 8 months, me thinks. :)
Thank you very much, I recite the following out loud everyday: "I still have time, I still have time.." :P

i love termie 2 especially the skull paint, you make me want to paint my chaos in NL colors, do they have a specific codex?
As Muskie said, we only have the regular Codex Chaos Spacemarines now. :)

Night Lords are pro-Raptor, they have the cool Forgeworld Dreadnought, even other special pieces you can order. I think sneaky Chosen is also very Night Lord, but Nihm is the banner bearer, though he needs an eviler purple. :-)
I agree on the Chosen and I do have plans to paint up some Truescale Chosen at one point.

An evil'er purple you say? how? what? where? - spill the beans!

Wow. Looking Awesome Nihm. Though slow your painting skills are formidable as always.

If you want my opinion on it skip on the trophy racks. Don't let the other inquisitors know it but I've always had a deep lurve for the night lords. Ever since reading "Lord of the Night". Great times... Think of it how Zso would. Trophy racks get in the way, they slow you down, and they take too much maintenance! :D

Ave Dominus Nox!

=D=

( Crap... the other inquisitors are totally gonna read this huh? :P )

Thank you! :P

I love the paint job on these guys! The magnets seem to work excellently too. Forgive me if you've already answered this but where did you get those?
What size magnets are you going to be using?
3x1mm circular Neodymium magnets.
And they're from http://www.powermagnetshop.de/gb/index.html

@Inquisitor =D=

No worries, the Trophy racks will stay off. ;)

:P Woot again! Nihm, these termies are coming together quite nicely! The combi-bolter definetely looks a bit strange considering the actual bolter barrel appears to be stuck on as an afterthought. Did the weapon come that way or did you want the focus more towards the plasma modification?
Boy, there sure is a lot of mould lines on the new plastic terminators.

I know what you mean Nihm, i bought the box set the other day and spent most of yesterday trying to get rid of the mould lines. Out of curiosity, what do you use to remove the mould lines, a file or a knife?

I use a craft knife, click here to see it.

I figured that the plasma components would and should take up most of the space so the bolter is still there, albeit only as a minimal representation.

I am going to build all my combi-plasmas like this. ;)

A tiny update from me, number three's shoulderpad is done.

One pad and one arm to go and he will be finished.

Thanks all, ;)

@Neph,

The last pad should be ready by tonight.

Picture will follow.

@Müller

What do you find unfluffy about NL having Termies? are they not scary, brutal or superior (in terms of weapons) enough? B)

The way I see NL is strike hard, strike fast, dissapear back into the shadow from where you came, mainly since most humanoid creatures (and mostly humans) fear hat they can't see... I don't see termies as a fast striking unit, they're too big and bulky ;P

See, I think from a different point of view, Terminators are entirely fluffy for the Night Lords. They might not be fast (in a game sense) but they can teleport down exactly where they're needed. And I defy any ordinary person not to be terrified of a Chaos Marine in Terminator armour. When all your shots bounce off the finest armour the Imperium's ever created and the madman inside's still laughing, that's when you know your doom is upon you...

So I think Terminator armour holds a lot of value purely as a psychological device if nothing else. It makes the big scary Chaos Marine bigger and scarier. And good luck trying to kill them....

Thanks all, :drool:

As do I, remember that the whole fast attack for heavy support rule was a poor stab at the rich NL background, the old background material portrayed absolute brutality, fear as a weapon and was centered around the NL only attacking when they were certain they would win. And terminators are supposed to be the best of the best, state of the art weaponry etc. My regular opponents fear my suicide terminator squad and fluffwise, I'm certain that imperials would be paralysed by there mere thought - if they knew that a squad of these guys could and wouldl appear anywhere, at any time..so I think it fits the bill perfectly. B)

The Night Lords are masters of stealth, able to infiltrate a position quickly and silently. These arts appear to be innate to the legion, and come to the fore during the sick games they use to drive their prey into paroxysms of terror. Even before they turned to Chaos, the Night Lords adorned their armour with imagery of death; this is because they know that fear can be used as a weapon just as effectively as a chainsword or bolter. Given their predilection for picking on weaker foes, a fully-armoured Night Lords champion armed with a devastating array of weaponry is always more than a match for the foes he chooses to fight.
Emphasis mine, the infiltration aspect will be covered by my Chosen squad, and the fear and brutality will be covered by my Terminators!

Anyway, the last arm should be finished tonight, pictures will follow.

Edit: make that tomorrow as something has come up.

these are looking great . cant wait to see more..the freehand markings are just great!

random question about the new plastic terminators.... are they the same size as the old metal ones , ? as i have a bunch of the metal ones but if they dont really fit in any longer i wont bother to paint them ,,

From left to right: ("New") Space Marine Terminator (same size as the "new" Chaos Terminators); Grey Knight Terminator; old Chaos Terminator; Standard Space Marine (same size as the Chaos Marines); Sister of Battle;

:huh:

I have always been a fan of your work, Nihm. The painting style is very smooth and clean looking. It is very eye catching to me.

Now, what I want to really see is a group shot of your army. With all of the details and free hand that you put into each and every model, it much be a hell of a sight to see.

Paint faster, Nihm. xD
