Thanks for your kind comments guys, glad you like my stuff still! :)

could you post another full army shot when you get a chance?

Sure - I reckon I can do that by the end of August.

thought about getting a minotaur or doombull from fantasy to represent a greater daemon?

Hey Mr Monster, I think I'm in the minority that really likes those models  I will be getting some Minotaurs to use as Big Mutants in the L&tD support formation I'll make for this army. As for a greater daemon, well, that spot's already taken by the Bull-headed God himself, Tauran ;)

I have just finished reading your entire thread, including your fluff. I must say that what you have achieved is truly impressive, you have created an entirely original army and have adressed all corners of this 40k hobby, coupled with spectacular conversions, paint jobs and background.

Congratulations.

( Spotted that monty pythons holy grail reference on page 10 ^_^ )

Thanks for your kind comments guys! ;)

I've been building some new stuff lately, I've decided to expand my numbers of special weapons troopers (so I can field squads of Chosen full of flamers, plasmas or meltas):

Some heavy weapons troopers, including another Autocannon conversion (look back through the thread and you'll see the original! ;) ):

I also got the new Daemon Prince, a very easy kit to assemble - I only needed to give it a minor conversion to get it to fit with the army (the horns on the head), aside from that there's some green stuff needed to fill a few gaps. But otherwise, I spent longer working on the base (as yet unfinished)!

Finally, at my local gaming group they're running a painting competition for the club Birthday event in September, the theme is 'Battle Scarred'; this is going to be my entry, a Berzerker Skull Champ:

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c274/firestorm40k/Legion%20of%20Taurus/Battle_scarred_entry_wip.jpg

I'm off on holiday tomorrow, so I'll get stuck on with the painting of this when I get back, more pics soon, thanks for looking! :P

cant wait till your back from holiday to see them with paint :ermm: .

Err, yeah, you'll be waiting a while after that to see them painted, ha! :P

Having said that, I've started on those Khorne Termies I made a few months back - I think there'll be a bit of a Khorne flavour to my painting in the not-too distant future, expect lots of red :P

Hello, it's been a while between updates (almost two months!!! :o ), but I've not been away from this army - infact, far from it.

To start with, I painted that Berzerker Skull Champion for the competition at my club - I'm pleased to say it won :D

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c274/firestorm40k/Legion%20of%20Taurus/Zerker_Champ_Rear.jpg

I spent about 4 weeks working on this (on and off) to get it finished. As a complete contrast, here is a model I painted over three (non consecutive) evenings; a Chaos Spawn I won in the last Call of Chaos comp:

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c274/firestorm40k/Legion%20of%20Taurus/Spawn_Grrr_Arrgh.jpg

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c274/firestorm40k/Legion%20of%20Taurus/Spawn_1.jpg

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c274/firestorm40k/Legion%20of%20Taurus/Spawn_2.jpg

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c274/firestorm40k/Legion%20of%20Taurus/Spawn_3.jpg

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c274/firestorm40k/Legion%20of%20Taurus/Spawn_4.jpg

It was all thinned down paints and then washes, it was such a joy to paint, and great to paint something that took a third of the time it takes to do the average miniature for this army! :D

As well as these, I've been working on painting the squad of Berzerkers I assembled and base-coated red a while back:

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c274/firestorm40k/Legion%20of%20Taurus/Zerkers_pip.jpg

They've had a wash of Baal Red and shading with Devlan Mud - I'll do the metallics next.

I've also assembled another squad of Berzerkers:

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c274/firestorm40k/Legion%20of%20Taurus/2nd_Zerker_Squad.jpg

Pretty standard stuff, but I'm most pleased with these, the Skull Champ and this other one, a total accident due to the angle that I cut the wrist at, but sticking it on made for a great swinging-axe pose. Graargh! :P

I also completed the conversion on the Khorne Daemon Prince which I did before the new plastic Daemon Prince, but I neglected to take pics before I primed it - I'll post pics when I start painting it.

I'll carry on painting the 'Zerkers, more pics as they progress.

Thanks for looking! B)

I say we abduct poor Dan Abnet and make him write a novel on the Legion of Taurus!

^_^ :tu:

Thank you, I think that's quite a compliment! Though others might not take it that way ;) I happen to like his 40k books.

The Legion of Tuarus making it in to a Black Library book though would be epic... :)

Thanks for your kind comments, daemonclaw & wokkers :o

Well, I'm back with another one of my intermittent updates :tu:

And not that I've been away from working on this army; far from it. I have been building a few miniatures I'll post later, but for now I want to share what has taken up my painting time for a good 2 1/2 months. These Berzerkers, which I'm pleased that I have now finished:

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c274/firestorm40k/Legion%20of%20Taurus/Berzerkers_Painted.jpg

It has taken me what has felt like forever to get them done. There's been so much touching up to do! Everytime i add some details, the metallics, the brass, greaves, eye-lenses - I go over the red I'd already painted, so have to touch up. That's why it takes me so long to do a single unit for this army, and they're not even in the same colours as the main Legion of Taurus!

Anyhoo, more pics:

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c274/firestorm40k/Legion%20of%20Taurus/Berzerkers_2nd_lot.jpg

Skull Champ - didn't come out as I'd hoped, the skin is too blotchy for my liking:

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c274/firestorm40k/Legion%20of%20Taurus/Skull_Champ.jpg

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c274/firestorm40k/Legion%20of%20Taurus/Skull_Champ_Side.jpg

Anyway, these are done now - I do have more Berzerkers to paint (including 'Zerker termies and Bikers), but I'll do something different next; possibly a Lord.

I will be back soon with a an update that should (hopefully) provide something a little different, and possibly quite special...

Till then, thanks for looking! ^_^

  • 2 weeks later...

Thanks for your kind words, Captain Mick :)

Well, I'm back with a slightly different, but quite sepcial update. Basically, it is (give or take a couple of days) the third anniversary since I started this project log. There are still plenty of models to finish building and paint, but I felt that this milestone was worth marking.

So, I decided to share my army by the wonders of youtube :tu:

Also, just for the sake of it, here are some pics of stuff that I've had painted for a while, but I wasn't happy with the original pics I took.

Tauran, the Bull-headed God:

Varcosian, Avatar of Tauran Unleashed:

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c274/firestorm40k/Legion%20of%20Taurus/Varcosian_2010.jpg

Predator Tank (note the sponson lascannons, which I've only just finished painting, ha! :P )

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c274/firestorm40k/Legion%20of%20Taurus/Pred_1-1.jpg

And finally, something that I've been wanting to get for some time, if only because people have requested it: an army shot (at least, of everything* I've painted so far):

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c274/firestorm40k/Legion%20of%20Taurus/Army_12-12-10.jpg

* Well, I say everything, I forgot to take my 3 Spawn, or the Sorceror for the Brotherhood, as it had needed some repairs! Thanks anyway to Jon at Apocalypse Miniature Wargaming, Bury St Edmunds, for the use of the gaming table!

Right, there will be more updates soon, but in the meantime thanks for looking, hope you enjoyed the pics and the video! B)

nice army shot, jon was saying you took army pics when i saw him the other day.. i really like seeing the entire project, really puts everything into perspective.. alot of wrok went into this, and its beautiful (in an evil ugly chaos sort of way)

Great looking army. As I lazily get my chaos army together, this provides inspiration to keep at it.

I'd love to see this army in person. I may just have to get off my lazy bum and finally make it down to apocalypse for the gaming night.
