Khrangar
Because the Librarian will be mostly blue and because my power weapons will be blue as well, i want to give him a staff but am stuck on how to make one. Any suggestions? Khrangar Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/127627-mk5-marines-army-angels-of-vigilance/page/5/#findComment-1526572 Share on other sites
BOBMAKENZIE
Plastic Rod maybe? Then take a skull from somewhere to adorn the top? Johns Hobby up on Danforth has some pretty neat things in it. Night Dragon
I really like your yellow. You've heard it before, of course, but everybody likes praise. The techmarine head is really great, very Borg-like. The purple wash really does everything it needs to, covers in all the right creases.I love the blue you use, it goes great with the yellow. I also really love your first veteran sergeant, with the blue head cables and red purity seals. It's a tiny contrast that prevents the model from becoming boring, and doesn't overpower the yellow. It goes great. I'm not quite sure where I stand on the all blue power swords; I might like it a lot, I might not. I need to think more. Maybe if you could put more silver/metal on the sword, and have the blue primarily on the edges. Overall, great work, and I'm glad that you got over your motivational difficulties. You're coming along at a right proper pace. Khrangar
I finished 5 marines save their bases. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/Khrangar/Mark%205/done1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/Khrangar/Mark%205/done2.jpg I'll figure out what to do for them tomorrow or tonight and post updates. Khrangar
I've done a test base, but am unsure if it looks ok or not or if I should do a black rim and grey sand. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/Khrangar/Mark%205/base.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/Khrangar/Mark%205/base2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/Khrangar/Mark%205/base3.jpg Khrangar Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/127627-mk5-marines-army-angels-of-vigilance/page/5/#findComment-1529182 Share on other sites
Tyrannicide
The bases looks nice and contrast well, with the armor. I think a grey rubble wouldn't look as good. Maybe change the rim to a flat black, though. Ardus
Very nice work. The yellow is a nice rich colour. For the bases, I'd got for the black/gray ones. The brown ones go OK with the sgts with the black robes, but I think they will blend in the the regular marines too much imho. Ardus. Khrangar
The first five are done as they're getting for now. I may add badges and whatnot to them, but unless I can get decals, they're finished. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/Khrangar/Mark%205/dun1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/Khrangar/Mark%205/dun2.jpg The bases get a little washed out by the flash. I'll get a brighter colour next time I go to GW and make the bases stand out a bit more. Khrangar
I've started more work on the librarian, mostly, I've added the hand from the Terminator Librarian. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/Khrangar/Mark%205/libr1.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/Khrangar/Mark%205/libr2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/Khrangar/Mark%205/libr3.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/Khrangar/Mark%205/libr4.jpg Khrangar Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/127627-mk5-marines-army-angels-of-vigilance/page/5/#findComment-1531667 Share on other sites

Frost Knight
i thought it was a plunger to. you could get a grey knight force staff i think it would work well with the librarian if you added more wires to it (the staff) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/127627-mk5-marines-army-angels-of-vigilance/page/5/#findComment-1531730 Share on other sites
ursidae
Great work so far, just a couple of suggestions. For the bases I would paint the edging in a darker brown (Scorshed maybe?) and to give a little contrast and color maybe just a bit of flock of static grass. The only question I have is in the side pics of the vet there is a line running down the side of the robes, is that a gap or a mould line? I love you highlighting methods, they are very crisp and no nonsense and the librarian is looking great. Keep up the good work. Khrangar
Not much of an update, especially since I've had this done for a while now, but due to school I haven't uploaded it. Here is the new and improved staff, now less of a plunger. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/Khrangar/Mark%205/staff1.jpg Khrangar Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/127627-mk5-marines-army-angels-of-vigilance/page/5/#findComment-1538438 Share on other sites
Tyrannicide
What bit is that? It looks much more fitting, than the 'plunger' bit. I think it flows well with the model, as the piece goes along with the Angels of Vigilance chapter symbol. Spiny Norman
What bit is that? Looks to me like one of the braziers from the Black Coach. Khrangar
It is indeed a brazier from the Black Coach. On another note, I've been thinking of a Chaplain for the army and have set my sights on Grimaldus. I was wondering, for those who have the model, how many BT symbols there are and where. Any help is appreciated. Sigismund Himself
His belt (tricky, doesn't look too Templary), on his shoulders are two badge like things with the symbol (easily filed off), the sword on top of his back has Templary handles (easily snipped and replacable) and his crozious. Then there's also chains and stuff. dahlberg66
Nice i just stumbled across ur log and have to say i love the theme, color and everything. Have u thought of adding a bit of snow to the base? I dont mean much at all just a bit I think it may end up highlighting ur scheme a bit but it could also end up taking away from ur models. but just a thought O and I defenitly got the Hugh joke for ur trekkie...i mean techie. lol Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/127627-mk5-marines-army-angels-of-vigilance/page/5/#findComment-1541395 Share on other sites
