I know it's a bit of a thread necro, but after being out-of-action (40K-wise) for an extended period, I have actually found time to move forward with this project... and I will be updating with photographic proof of such. Going to drop a few shots taken just this evening as a reference & watermark for the project. All of the pieces are in the relatively same state as when I mothballed them. I think in order to get that wargame miniature look maybe some lighter desert style bases or a bare head thrown in would help all your hard work stand out a little more. I'd avoid snow bases as the glare would drown out the muted style of the minis and mud/dark earth bases would probably make it hard to draw out the paint job from a distance. The 'desert' basing is a great idea to help them stand out. I'm all over that. So... I tired the B&C blog thing, and added the first bit of fluff in story form. It's not Pulitzer material, that's for certain.
