Servant of Ultramar
I'll be going to college in the Boston/Providence area next year, and was wondering if there's any local wargaming groups or stores in the area that you guys can recommend. Any suggestions? Thanks! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/137829-massachusetts-usa/page/2/#findComment-2391133 Share on other sites
Angron
Depending on where you end up. There is a store in Weymouth Mass Called Battleground. The 40K community is something like 30 strong at this point. GeoKrush
I'm in the Worcester area... sadly there is a big gap in game shops between Boston and Springfield. The closest shop to me is Whiz in Westborough, but that is like a 35-40 minute drive for me. Nydgenga
I'm in Natick, although I've tended to go to the Whiz in Westborough. I've yet to meet many other players of the game, other than a friend. Bah, I say! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/137829-massachusetts-usa/page/2/#findComment-2741478 Share on other sites

This is my current haunt now for gaming; Pandemonium books is a short block away from the Central Squad stop on the Boston Red Line. Good number of tables, good crowd. I'm into it. egon1six
Hello Brothers, I just moved from CA to Hanover, MA. I attend a good sized store called Medieval Starship in Pemboke, MA. The only thing is they have limited games for 40k players. We only play once a week on Saturdays starting at 1100 a.m. I am interested in getting many more games as many as I can. I am re-emerging from the warp so to speak so I need games to get caught up on 5th ed. Any help in pointing me in the direction of any games within 1hour drive I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks in advance! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/137829-massachusetts-usa/page/2/#findComment-2805661 Share on other sites

Thanks in advance! Battleground Games in Abington is fantastic, and not too far away (I'm in Duxbury). The staff is friendly and helpful and there are always people there, though PP games are more popular right now than GW. Teetengee
My friends and I have started up a Warhammer 40k club at our local store, Hobbyland in Stow, MA. It meets every Saturday at noon and runs until anywhere from 5 to 6. It is a laid back atmosphere where proxying, within reason, is generally accepted (No Guardsmen Heldrakes though!!!). We will supply models and codices for use in shop if needed. Edit: Updated with accurate information. EDIT:Hobbyland is closing. We are going to make the shift to Excelsior in Maynard pretty soon. BoggyMan
New England Comics New Bedford Table Top Club Location: 2184 ACUSHNET AVE, New Bedford, Massachusetts Meeting Times: Saturdays from 11AM to 5PM-ish, Games Played: Warhammer 40K, Marvel Dice Masters with games of Heroclix, Warmachine/Hordes, Warhammer Fantasy, Zombicide, freeplay and specialist games by request. The table top club of New England Comics in New Bedford would like to invite you all to check out our venue! We have 8 tables ready to play and are rebuilding our terrain collection with high-quality pieces; so even if you've been here before there's something new to see! We are a laid back lot, so don't expect to face broken tournament lists. (But we do welcome the opportunity to polish our skills against competitive players.) We play 40K and Heroclix on a regular basis, but no matter what game you play you'll probably find a couple of players here interested in it. We're small but growing, and always happy to see new faces. Plus, with 10% off Games Workshop stock, and 15% off GW orders, our venue is a great place not only to play, but to start your army! Right now we have a tournament upcoming (5/24) as well as an upcoming Space Marine painting contest! You can keep up with our current and future events here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/632063100185993/ Best Wishes, and hope to play some of you soon!
