Hellstrike Posted August 1, 2008 Author Share Posted August 1, 2008 If this is a crusade army, what are you using for your Crusade badge? It will help tie everything together visually a bit more. Right now I'm leaning toward the 4 quartered badge as it is on the Mantis Warriors and the front plate of the Shark razor back. Rough working idea is a Crusade force of chapters that participated in the 4th Quadrant rebellion and are tasked with hunting the Red Corsairs and finishing the job. Additional chapters, like the Scythes, are there for their ties to other chapters (they're shadowing the Lamenters). The blacked out quadrant on the diamond design represents the 4th quadrant part. This is the rough working idea at least :) How about Rainbow Warriors for another squad? ;) Yes, for all you youngsters, that is a GW-created codex chapter. :lol: I had considered doing them as an add in chapter, I need to find a reference of their color scheme again and see if I could work it in to what I've already got ;) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I've done something similar with my crusade army, but I've used successor chapters of the I.F.. Here is a link to my crusade. I have a mixed unit for the command squad, and the Crusade badge is the quartered circle on the right knee. I thought they had a different scheme in the old fluff, something a little more... colorful? Either way, I think I'll skip them for this phase, I have no other blue chapters (or blue in the army for that matter) for me to help tie them in and look coherent with the rest of the force. Thanks for the compliments! I've taken a look at your crusade army and I really like what you've done. I have a battle company plus of Imperial fists myself so always a fan of the Sons of Dorn and despite my opinions on the whole Soul Drinkers thing ;) you've pulled them off really well. I'll warn you though, they are a re-paint of some very old marines (one of my old raven guard squads fittingly enough) so their not quite the same quality as the rest of the army. Lets see, its been a while since I did them so off the top of my head I seem to remember it being the following Prime Black Base coat with 2 thin coats of bestial brown Two thin coats of Bubonic brown to get even coverage highlight with 75/ 25 Bubonic to golden Highlight with a 50/25/25 Bubonic Golden Bleach bone The Bubonic I thought gave them a very grim and dirty feel to their yellow but still conveyed the color. As for a tutorial on the chapter badge, sure, I'll get one put together seeing as I still have to do it on a couple of their shoulder pads :) Thanks for the compliments everyone! The command is new, the Chaplain will have the old Blue/Yellow markings as a tribute to where they have been. The rest will be in the post Jemidal camo green. The only problem is, theres no back hatch. I don't know where it is, if I lost it during assembly, if I used it for another vehicle, whatever. The weathering will wait until I get that back hatch as I want it to be uniform all over the chassis. I also need to finish and glue together the lascannon assembly, its just tacked together for the photo here. Ideas for markings came from Cpt.Stahl and his extremely well done Sharks force, and is name after Cpt.Tiberius in thanks for the wonderful IA: Space Sharks he produced here in the Liber section which gave me a ton of ideas on how to add some character to this chapter.
