I was just finishing it up when book 3 came out. I saw the Templars cross was a veterans symbol for the heresy era Fists. Also, the red helmet with the white stripe identified a veteran sgt. There is a 3 digit number on his left shoulder, that just identifies the chassis number of the dreadnought in the legion. I figured a 100000 man legion with 2 or 3 dreadnoughts to a company would need 3 digits. You can see his brother below, with the same numbering method.

The HH books were what got me into buying FW models, not the other way around...

 

Just wish that BL would release all the main novels in hardback format. Looking forward to adding The First Heretic, A Thousand Sons, and Prospero Burns to my collection.
