Kierdale Posted September 11, 2011 Share Posted September 11, 2011 The first miniatures I've touched in about a decade: five pre-Heresy Word Bearers converted from the Ultramarines you get in the Paint Set. Perhaps got a little over excited at getting back into the hobby and tried too much...Green Stuff'd their faces to try for Mk.IV helmets, Green Stuffed some purity seals (including ones to hold on their cloaks) and thought I'd have a mess with their bolters: putting the magazines on the side instead (highly impractical, sure). Devastator marines, power weapons and assault marines I am making my army completely modular when it is finished. Meaning I plan on using wolves, blood angels, dark angels, templars, standard, and chaos. Goal is to never have to buy minis after the army is done and only buy books. Since my time is very limited (hard to paint with a 1 year old :)), the extent of my conversion is limited to filling the aquilas off the breastplate. The guy with the flamer is from the Black Reach set, which had a few different armor options. I think this guy has Mk IV knee pads. The missile launcher guy has a different helmet from normal, which I think is also a Mk IV. I always intended the insignia to be a flat silhouette. What detail would you suggest I add to it? I'd probably add some grey highlights to the wolf's head to define its shape/details (brow, jaw, etc) and do the moon crescent and wolf's eye in yellow.
