Pyriel Posted July 28, 2008 Share Posted July 28, 2008 Thanks Pyriel, The chips done are almost exactly the same as the scales on your sallies - trompe l'oeil 3D effect paintwork, no chips msn-wink.gif The yellow is effectively Iyanden Darksun laid down over Tausept Ochre, highlighted by mixing Badmoon Yellow in and then Bleached Bone. It was shaded down with Gryphonne Sepia and "dirtied" up with Devlan Mud on the shins and bottom of the tabard. The worst thing is to paint the model, highlight and shade it, only to then paint big black scratches and stripes all over it!! The full recipe is in the WIP board here. Thanks. Wonder if I can try out your technique for yellow but on green instead. So the chips are painted flat but look like they are 3D? If so the chips are not done the same way as my scales. Anyway I changed a few of the colours in that technique to get a slightly different finish, im quite proud of it, so here it is, front and back views. C&C welcome. P.s. hes not actually finished yet, I seill need to do his eyes and hair, and the two DA icons and I also need to touch up the power maul. So I use him now as a insanely decorated "vet serg" with a PW that "sorta" looks like a sword of corvus (silence).
