Greetings, all. Allow me to tell you a little bit about the gaming club I belong to. Also, if they happen to see this, perhaps Brother Argos, littlbitz or Elijah7 will weigh in with an endorsement. The four of us had a mini B&C get-together at the club earlier this year...

Located in River Edge, NJ, HQ the Club - or just HQ as we affectionately call it - is a unique club as clubs in the world of war-gaming go. HQ is incorporated as a nonprofit entity and is organized as a social club for enthusiasts of miniature tabletop war-gaming with the intent of promoting and encouraging participation in the hobby of miniature tabletop war gaming as well as providing a central location for enthusiasts to meet, exchange information, and enjoy all aspects of the miniature tabletop war-gaming hobby. Whew! What does that all mean? Basically, it's a private club with private space to play and hang out with other gaming people just like yourself!

There are plenty of tables with excellent terrain to play on. There's a dedicated indoor priming area with ventilation, as well as a dedicated painting area, and a communal "bitz room" for all your modeling needs (access to which is a nice perk of full membership!). Additionally, if there are other game systems you like to play outside of Warhammer 40,000 chances are there are members who'd be happy to indulge you or who'd be happy to pick up a new addiction. ;) When you get hungry or thirsty there's a cash snack bar AND, if you get bored with war-gaming, I'm sure you'll find someone willing to play with you on one of several Xbox units. Sounds pretty sweet, right?

As HQ is a private club reliant on its member roll for its existence, there are a few guidelines to becoming a member and/or playing at the club. Membership is open to any person over the age of 18. Membership is available at one of two levels. Each level has its own requirements in terms of dues, and confers different member benefits, etc.

-Full "keyed" Membership ($45/month) - At this level, a member is eligible to vote on all matters at meetings of the general membership and may hold office as an officer or director. The member will receive a key and 24 hour access to the HQ premises, the option to store gaming-related materials on premises (at an additional fee), and admission to all HQ hosted events.

-Full "non-keyed" Membership ($30/month) - Basically this confers the same benefits as full membership minus the key (and subsequent self-access), eligibility for holding office and ability to vote on club matters. A three month probationary period must be completed satisfactorily if you wish to elevate to "keyed" membership.

Now, if these levels of membership don't work for you, you can always visit as a guest...

-Guest Membership ($5/visit) - Guest Membership entitles you to the use of HQ facilities for one 24 hour period (excepting the bitz room), provided a Full Member is present. Guest Memberships may be purchased at the door. Additionally, your first visit to the club is free. However, due to insurance requirements, we ask that minors be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Now, you may be saying that's a lot more information than you needed up front. Forewarned is forearmed I like to think. At any rate, stop by our club forums here to check us out further or, at the very least, to introduce yourself. We look forward to hearing from you!!!
