I think this guy is pretty much done, i've splashed some paint on the base - I'm going for a desert theme i'll add some grit and grass and maybe an abandoned Tau pulse rifle. Plus i've been tidying up the rest.

This miniature has evolved over the course of this thread he is now, Brother-Captain Venatus of The Astral Swords

He is in a prelim pose and i'll be adding equipment to him aswell. Theres no mistaking what chapter this guy will be from. (I have often wondered just how do you sex up an Ultramarine? The answer of course is - second him to the DeathWatch.)

Well the great thing about the DW is that you can use marines from probably 99.9% of chapters and you can model them to eptomise their respective chapters (giving an IF a P/fist for example, etc) or show them in another light to what people are used too.

I'm cleaning up the bitz for my third marine, he is going to be armed with another converted bolter and lightning claw. Once thats done i'll start the next round of painting.

Thanks. :)

Capt. Venatus update -

And my third team member -

The bolter looks raw here and still needs alot of work before being painted, but have faith and all will turn out well.

Lookin good, what chapter is he going to be from? On the subject of lightning claws though: why not try do the claws in a red/orange colour? Far too many are blue IMO :eek

Well too much red could clash with the silver and i'm not a fan of orange, purple or green could work but i think that light blue gives a feeling of purity. As for the chapter i could paint him as Raven Guard or maybe go for an obscure chapter like the Imperial Talons/ Brazen Claws or something similar.
